Default pushing with any two against a raise...

the guy had raised AJo from the CO the previous orbit, but he had raised 3bb. this raise looks weak, and the SB had a weak call himself putting 250 chips in the pot. i think this a really high percentage play, but do i need the chips? are they worth risking my entire stack to a loose call buy onf of the people in the hand?

I think it is a slightly risky play because the two players involved have equal, but different, reasons to call. Robinghood may call as he sees this as a chance to make his move, whereas Mello has the chips if he fancies the gamble.

However, I like your reasoning behind the move. You read the initial raise as weak and the completion by the SB as equally so. I'm not really convinced that a loose call was a possibility based on what you've said. I see Robinghood raising to 150-200 or Mello re-raising if they were going to call u.

    I like it!

    squeeze play?

If you ahve the read that the original raiser is weak, then it is a very good play.

you might be better off stealing later on tho.

Wow, very dangerous but profitable push. Your hand was clearly the weakest of the three. You really need more chips but you obviously don't need more balls.

I like this play a lot - your read is spot on - This to me is really good poker - When i started playing poker i would say to myself I should raise/push here but i will just call instead to scared to go with my read - now i'm starting to get the confidence to go with my reads and seeing the benefits through the success and amount of chips you can get just from out playing someone in a certain situation.

so to answer your question - sometimes for the reason above - but wouldn't do it all the time as you would be setting yourself up for a trap.

    Nice one.

I think it's a very profitable play if your read is right. Even if they have AK or just and two other high cards you are barely a dog. The only time it's going to hurt is when someone busts you with a high PP.
It's definately worth the gamble. 200 chips is almost 1/4 of your stack! you have to make a move sometime.

If the chipstacks of your opponents were reversed, I would not make this move.

O that is a very good point indeed.

A big stack calling a raise has potentially a weaker hand on average than a small stack calling a raise. One has more to lose than the other, therefore you should be more careful.

That IS the thoought process right?

This is an excellent spot for this move. It's not a classic example of a squeeze play because of the blind stealing component, but it has a similar appearance.

You definitely need the chips. You're adding almost 33% to your stack if you are successful, and you have only 12x the blinds. When the blinds increase, you'll be in big trouble if you don't build your stack soon.

The only thing slightly unfavorable is that you don't have Robbinghood covered. However, your stack is still big enough to cripple him.
