    Default 3rd hand of $10+1

I really am not sure how to play this. His play screamed a PP TT, JJ or QQ so I quess I should have check-folded on the flop or..?? The problem with CR is that it commits too much chips to the play. It would have gone even trickier if he woulda just called.. I dont really think that folding PF is an option. What about re-raising and if so, how much?

he raised so much preflop, i would probably push or fold.

I dont just like to push or fold at the beginning of the tournament

The problem is that if I put him on TT-QQ (or any other PP except KK-AA) I have about 30% chance of hitting my A or K on the flop. If I dont I am done with the hand and lose the 130 chips. If I do hit A or K I should get at least 130/0.3=~435 chips this play to be profitable. (Correct me if I am wrong, I just try to figure this thing out). Because there is 300 in the pot already I am fairly sure that by checking the A or preferably K to him I would easily get 200 chips in the pot (which actually happened but the texture of the flop was somewhat scary ) BUT I also have to consider that he could have AA or KK as well. A good player (or a bad one) might make such a play. So should I really fold AK to a single raise????? sounds like the best option.

Pushing is out of question, if he doesnt have a hand which I think he has I would get 170 chips. If he calls I am about 55-45 underdog about 65-75% of the time and a major underdog 25-35 of the time.

    Thoughts!?

Ill be honest, I dont think his play 'screams' anything here. With no read your at best taking a guess. You really dont have much beat though.

How about QK? AJ? A10? If he is Laggy even JT or Q9 is possible.

Further you have a lot of draws out there he could be semi bluffing. AcQc for example.

I would say your behind and fold, but you played it pretty well.

    Whats the buyin?

You are correct. At later stages of the tournament it would be easier to put him on a hand. Anyways I am pretty sure I am beat and I dont have enough outs to call, especially with tournament life at stake. And I am pretty sure that I am better than average player at these stakes so losing some chips isnt a catastrophe, no need to gamble with calling his AI..

me neither, but i also don't like just calling a 7bb utg raise and playing the flop out of position.

You should have raised preflop and bet the flop. Your call/check-raise line makes me think you're drawing/weak if I'm the villain here, and would make me liable to push in. Plus, many people at low levels HATE to get checkraised. I think you are ahead here a lot of the time, and wouldn't be surprised to see villain with KK, QQ, or AQ or even a draw. I just dont see a set pushing in like this... I'm not sure. However, you have very little info about your hand with your line, and it costs a lot. Reraising preflop would at least clarify the situation -- just calls with a weaker ace, pushes with a high PP -- at a cheaper price. Check-raise-fold on the flop seems weak -- lose chips for possibly bogus info. on a flop that is precisely the flop you're looking for with AK.

I would have raised all-in preflop. Yes, I'm more of an accumulist, but frequently you will get calls from AQ, AJ, etc. Personally, I like playing AK very aggressively in tournaments.

Bet on the flop, if he re-raises or push, fold. Checking on the flop exhibited weakness and lead to the push.
