Default Let's talk about the different shorthanded games out there

I thought it would be interesting to talk about the different shorthanded games people have played and how they are. What differences did you notice between 25NL and 50NL? How about 100NL vs 200NL vs 400NL? What about 600NL for the few brave souls who tried that?

How was the party 100NL game different from the stars 100NL or the prima 50NL vs party 50NL?

I remember Party 25NL being the easiest, loosest game ever. 50NL was tighter than hell, but very easy to run over. 100NL is full flush chasers and people who think you're bluffing every time and call you down with pocket 2's if theres not an ace on board - much like 25NL was.

Awesome idea, I hope we get some contributors to this thread, I've been wanting some information like this for a while now. I can't contribute much, but I can tell you that 25NL at Party should be officially called The Aquarium. Half of the players don't know what they're doing, and the other half are predictable enough for you to manipulate them somehow. I played 50NL maybe like 20 sessions, and 100NL for only 2 or 3, but I seemed to like 100 better. Seems like 50 are full of the tightees/good players that had success at 25 and wanted to move up, where 100 still has some wild players. I still can't take myself out of The Aquarium though, cause the games are just so damn juicy. I think I may just completely skip over the 50 level and move up to 100 once I am properly rolled. I'm wondering what other sites have soft 25-100NL games as well... Born and raised on Party only.

    25/50's f'in hard!
I've played Party's 25 NL, 50 NL, 100 NL, and 200 NL 6-max. I'd say your descriptions of 25 and 50 are pretty accurate, though 50 was a bit looser when I played it. For me, 100 was more tight and people wouldnt chase as much as in lower stakes.

200 didn't seem a whole lot harder, players played very predictably (similar to 200 NL 10-max), folded when they should and called when they thought they had you. Very easy manipulated. Then again your talking to someone who is used to the unpredictable sharkfest of 3/6 NL 10-max on Party.

I am going to venture into 400 NL 6-max pretty soon, I hear its a lot harder though, I'll tell you what I think of it.

Being a 10-max player however, whenever I play 6-max (unless I've been playing 6-max for a whole day or two straight), I think of the hand in terms of 10-max, i.e. a 10-max game where the first four people have folded, which allows me to go back and forth very quickly and play well.

Well I just got done playing a session of 400 NL 6 max and ended it up 200$.

The players like to play back at you whenever you make continuation bets, so be careful. Lots and lots of bullying around, its almost like a "whose got the bigger dick" contest, and you have to make your stand. I did this by trapping one poor fool that decided to scare out my "continuation"-looking bet on the flop.

This hand illustrates what you can expect from 400 NL 6-max.. trapping is important.

I dont think I'm going to be try 600 NL 6-max anytime soon though. I've heard its very nasty with lots of sharks and the swings are insane.. 400 NL 6-max isn't too bad though.
