    Default He's drawing on me

I know he's drawing on me, and I'm pretty sure he's not going to fold. How much do you bet on the turn? Do you play the flop differently?

I know its a borderline call preflop but there were a lot of limpers so I thought I'd join.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed)

    MP1 (t1500)
    MP2 (t1680)
    MP3 (t1980)
    CO (t20)
    Hero (t1460)
    SB (t2980)
    BB (t1180)
    UTG (t1200)
    UTG+1 (t1500)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9, T.
3 folds, MP2 calls t20, 1 fold, CO calls t20 (All-In), Hero calls t20, SB completes, BB checks.

    Flop: (t100) 9, 6, 7 (5 players, 1 all-in)
SB checks, BB bets t100, MP2 calls t100, Hero raises to t300, SB folds, BB folds, MP2 calls t200.

    Turn: (t800) 4 (3 players, 1 all-in)
    MP2 checks, Hero bets t400, MP2 calls t400.

    River: (t1600) 5 (3 players, 1 all-in)
    MP2 bets t760, Hero folds.

    Final Pot: t2360

    Results in white below:
MP2 has Kd 8d (straight, nine high).
CO has Ks Qd (high card, king).
    Outcome: MP2 wins t2360.

    Ditto.

That's one thing I need to start to do. I always think a pot sized bet on the turn is enough to protect my TP from any draws. Gotta drop that hammer sometimes...

Did you not push because you said you knew he wouldn't fold to anything?

Yeah this was like a $5 sng so I'm pretty sure there was almost no chance of him folding. Also it was pretty early in the tournament.

Eh you never know. Although things can get crazy sometimes I dunno who'd go all-in just on a draw with only the river left.

Oh yeah, maybe fold preflop. It's early, and you don't wanna get involved with medicore hands like this. It got you into an early predicament.

You know. I think you're right about the guy not folding to a push.

I just got knocked out of the tourney on a really stupid play. I had a pair of Jacks. All the guy had was a draw and I knew it. I pot size bet the flop, push the turn and the guy calls. Yep just 4 to a flush. He catches the freakin thing on the river.

I need to work up a bigger bankroll to get out of these $6 Turbo SnG's...

    fold preflop.

it's early, and the only thing you can hope for is a great flop with a OESD or two pair. with this being a 5er, you could easily have someone in there with A9, K9 or even Q,J 9.

if you are already in there and you really want to apply pressure, i would push on the flop. but like daluchy said, maybe you shouldn't have put yourself in this position in the first place, it being early and all. 9To is trash with those limpers in my opinion.

on the other hand, i guess if you were feeling frisky, you could RAISE it preflop. but like you said, somebody will probably stay in it with you at this level. that kind of defeats the purpose of raising it.

I'd limp 910o all day in this spot. People may even give a free card or two since someone is AI.

If you know he's not going to fold, why wouldn't you push the turn?

You guys are missing the point, it's not about what happens on the river. Make them make a mistake, if your read is correct and he's going to call off all his/your chips with the worst hand... MAKE HIM DO IT. It's not like you are going to get those chips on the river if he misses. However if you thought he would call a PS bet on an OESD on the turn (which is a mistake) but would fold to an AI, you should make the PS bet.

Actually, even if I did go AI and he called it wouldn't be too bad of a play by him. He's holding Kd8d, so he has 9 outs for the flush, 6 outs for the OESD, and 3 for the kings for a total of 18 outs. Of course, there is no way of me knowing that he has this good of a draw when I'm in the hand, I just know he has one of them.
