    Default Good fold?

Here's my JJ hand from the button. Not really any read on this guy. Just wondering if I should have bet the flop, and since I did if you think it was a good fold.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed)

    Hero ($34.90)
    SB ($24.75)
    BB ($23.85)
    UTG ($10.50)
    UTG+1 ($9.50)
    MP1 ($31)
    MP2 ($21.95)
    CO ($24.60)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, J.
    1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.25, MP1 calls $0.25, 2 folds, Hero raises to $1.25, 2 folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls $1.

    Flop: ($3.10) 9, Q, Q (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets $1.5, MP1 raises to $4, Hero folds.

    Final Pot: $8.60

you raise, you should bet the flop. You should probably bet more than $1.5, but yeah.

You're not supposed to just continuation betting for the sake of continuation betting. You're supposed to be representing something. It's entirely possible for you to have a Q or an overpair, but you've got to bet like it. Would you have bet out $1.50 if you'd had a queen? no.

So you have to think about what your bet is saying to the other guy.

So how much do you typically bet in this situation? The pot, $3, or like 2/3 of the pot, $2?

I vary my continuation bets somewhere between 2/3 and pot, depending on my read. If I'm in EP and there are more than 3 callers and I missed the flop, I'll usually check/fold or if I sense weakness from one bettor, I'll sometimes check raise 2x the raise.

bad bet, bad fold. and this has nothing to do with a continuation bet here, you have 2 pair, probably better than his two pair, if that. ill raise with a 9 in his position every time.

Yeah he has a hand, it's not a missed flop... I got sidetracked. The reason why I posted that is I like to try to keep my continuation bets and made hand bets around the same, as to not get put on a hand.

if i have JJ here I want to be put on a made hand, i dont want to see the turn.
