    Default Freeroll strategies?

I play mostly freerolls on poker sites. On pokerchamps, the freeroll structure is pretty crazy, because the blinds increase in such a way that you have to increase your chips from 1,000 to about 10,000 in an hour or you won't win any money.

The players are really loose, so I don't know what the best strategy is.

    Strategy 1:
Fold every time, when you get a pair or Ace high, go all in.
This one worked for me the best. First of all, I don't spend as much time playing the freeroll if I lose. Second of all, if I win the all-in I get to double up. The players are loose enough to call my all-in with like KJo. It is rare that I don't get called.

Strategy 2: Play tight. Bet enough post flop to force out draws, or minibet to get people with like ace high to try to draw to an ace. I spend more time playing this way, but I get money more surely like this.

Remember, the players are AWFUL, but there is two thousand of them and only top 28 get paid. I also play in the noble poker free roll, but that's only once a day.

I play primarily on Pokerchamps, and have dabbled in the freerolls making the money a few times. My strategy in the freerolls is to race with odds early. I often go all in with mid pairs preflop, AK, and AQ. I usually find I'm ahead when the cards are flipped. If you can triple up early, then you can get more conservative. Don't give low stacks any respect however, as freeroll lowstacks are tilty. Call them down with anything significant.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

i just play solid and find it's much more affective than any set strategy, most things still apply while playing against a field of mostly fish. typically i will play pretty tight with the acception of calling BB with anyhand if there are 4-5+ limpers. once the blinds get huge, start making moves, win pots without showing any cards, most of the time i end up "catching" up to everyone else but ive placed better than 150 in my last two.

I played in the party poker $5000 one and came 24th once. At the beginning just double up with AA/KK/QQ/AK preflop or on the flop when you hit. At about 400 people left and the blinds get high it's mostly allin preflop for all the shortstacks. Just steal some blinds and take out shortstacks with good hands.

My wife, "moneyed" in a freeroll last night (earned an entry into something or other). But the funny thing was it looked like tons of people just entered and then clicked post/fold and went to bed. With 4 tables left her table had 6 people who were in perpetual sitout mode, and guess what. They won 5 ai races in a row and ALMOST made it ITM. top 30 'paid' and a couple were in the top 34!! That's not a strategy, just a funny story.

Well, that's one way to play a freeroll.. don't invest time in it!

    Default play

freeroll's u need to play poker .. take advantage of large stacks when ur low stacked but don't surprised if a large stack calls ur KK with K 10 and catches runner runner to make a flush .. it happens .. a lot of loose players that enver win because they get involved in pots that they should not be in .. play solid smart poker .. and all in's r either pre flop pair or AK AQ or when u get the nuts .. don't try to push stupid pots .. when u get on the bubble go for hte blind s.. people get conservative they want ITM so take advantage of that .. take the blinds .. make a nice stack

Freerolls are basically like playing the lottery. Its all about winning the coin flips early on and doubling, since everyone is so eager to get their chips all-in with just about any pocket pair or ace. I've got a 4th, 6th and a couple other ITMs on PartyPokers 5,000 FR, but am also one of the 1st ones busted out sometimes. Its not really even "poker" until the later stages. When it gets close to the bubble and you have a decent stack, you can do a lot of stealing when everyone tightens up.
