Thanks guys.
Long time reader, first time poster.
I've been playing Texas Hold 'Em since November, last year. Never really did well...started playing online, lost some money, never really won any. Started playing tournaments a couple months back and played far too tight, too straightforward. Never did well in that either. Then I picked up this site...don't remember where. But reading the strategies helped me broaden my game a lot. I entered a 20 dollar multi table tournament over on AbsolutePoker last Sunday...didn't have amazing cards (well my 33 did quad out on KK), and placed second against a donk who called me down the line with 28 til he tripped on the river. Happens. Won 433 dollars.
Thursday night, another tournament. A 5 dollar rebuy, 2nd place, 490+ dollars. Using selective aggression, and making good reads got me so much farther than my cards did. I ended up 2nd due to flopping top pair with the chip leader, and just finally trapping him, knowing he overplayed yet another hand. He had 8 10, I had Q 10...river brought the eight for his two pair, but still, I felt good. Through absorbing knowledge on here from guys like Rada, Ripptyde, and others I feel like my game's really taken a turn.
Another sappy post, but I just wanted to let you guys know you've helped me bank well over a grand in the last week, and it feels pretty damn good.
