    I'd bet the turn.

You have a nice stack to be able to call the river. I think you win a fair amount here, but if he does have you, it's not a major dent in your stack.

Probably the best play is to value bet the river for 1200.

If this guy is one of those who has been messing around with small pairs and such, i just call as any small pair destroys your hand

Minraise fold to a push? Or if you put in the raise, you intend on seeing a showdown?

Your hand is g00t. With the range of hands you've put op on, you should only be paniced if he's super passive.

he could easily have AA, or KK QQ JJ and be scared of the ace. I call.

    a read on him helps.

I agree with Rippy, I also keep the pressure on with a turn bet, 600 or so, he would likely fold everything but a monster. If he raises then, I would be outa there unless he's LAG.

The one reasonable hand you're afraid of here is AA, so the question is if he has AA. With the way you played the hand, it's hard to know if he is slowplaying AA and wanted to check-raise you on the turn, or if you induced a bluff and he's trying to take the pot. Do you have any read on him, would he check a missed hand on the flop? The lack of the continuation bet is an open question for me.

Assuming no previous reads, I would probably go with it and raise him on the river. He has half his money in the pot, so it's very possible he will call you with a weaker A or another high PP.

My goal is to get better every day. The money will come by itself.

What level of game is this? In the $2 or lower buy-ins that I play, the opponent could have quite a range of hands such as AQ, AJ, AT, Axs or a mid- to high pocket pair rather than AA, which would mean the danger hands are A5 and A4. I'd call, but wouldn't be too surprised to lose.

    Love me for a season
I don't see why you need to raise the river, but then I don't play $150 tournaments like you probably do. Aren't you happy with just calling? seems like the logical choice. I wouldn't want to have to make the call if he pushes over my raise.

At my level of playing u have him most of the time. He's holding AQ AK AA KK QQ JJ or TT and sniffed weakness when u didn't raise the turn. So without a special read, I raise whatever I think he'll call with a subpar hand--ie minimum. If he pushes, great, I call.
But I play in 30$ games which are full of fish, and u haven't specified the buyin for this game.
    Tell us what happened.

definite call, i really dont see him having you beat. the only reason he bet is because you showed major weakness on the turn and he thought you were just throwing out a continuous bet on the flop. then when he called and you checked he thought you didnt have the ace so he bet out the river when the board paired trying to bluff you or thinking he has the best hand. he could easily have AA, his play makes sense for that, along with his preflop raise. but he could also have so many other hands that you can beat that would make sense with his play. i think calling here is good in the long run.

re raise pre flop, and I don't get the turn check.

I think I'd just call. If you had him out kicked I would think he would have bet the turn. He's either got lower PP or the AA, either way raising is not going to get any more $$.
