Raise the turn?

    Default Raise the turn?

The table is extreamly passive preflop, allowing me to see the flop with more hands than normal.
Flop comes down trips for me. It has been my experience that if I bet (anything, even 1bb) then everyone will fold so I check to conceal my trips.

Your play here? Should I have raised the turn?
My thought was to play passive and raise whatever he bets on the river. If he had checked the turn I would have bet.
The river bet is large but not so large that it will never be called.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (8 handed) converter

    UTG ($4.53)
    UTG+1 ($6.32)
    Hero ($4.35)
    MP2 ($3.13)
    CO ($5)
    Button ($1.03)
    SB ($3.96)
    BB ($2.63)

    Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 5, K.
UTG calls $0.02, UTG+1 calls $0.02, Hero calls $0.02, 2 folds, Button calls $0.02, SB completes, BB checks.

    Flop: ($0.12) 5, 5, A (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

    Turn: ($0.12) T (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets $0.1, Hero calls $0.10, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds.

    River: ($0.32) 3 (2 players)
    UTG+1 bets $0.2, Hero raises to $0.66, UTG+1 folds.

    Final Pot: $1.18

    Results in white below:
Hero has 5s Ks (three of a kind, fives).
    Outcome: Hero wins $1.18.
    Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL

I would have raised the turn. He might have picked up a 4-flush.

even at a very passive table i'm still probably not playing k5s, but that's at your discretion as i've never playing penny tables and don't really know.

otherwise, given this is a penny table, i think that you did fine. board is relatively drawless. at higher levels, i would probably bet the flop, definitely raise the turn.

Yeah, I may be missing some oppurtunities to bet flops. I have gotten into the habit of betting the turn on hit flops. The problem is that some tables will allow you to bet the flop while others wont. I hate missing paying opportunities by betting the flop and seeing all folds.

I guess I should bet the flop the first three hands I hit at a table to feel out the table. If I get all folds then maybe move to conceal by checking hit flops.

bet the flop and get action from an ace.

Perhaps the problem is in my standard bet size. I like to be aggressive with my bets as it evokes responses from people that have me beat. My first bet is almost always 7xbb unless something odd happens in the hand. So my flop bet would be 7xbb. Is that perhaps too much and maybe that is the problem?

Checking the flop is fine, now u can get action from either the A or T on turn. Your options on the river are either to min raise or push. If he's gonna call a bet bigger than the pot he'll probably call an all-in at this level. So if you are going to go for it - go for it. If you think you can only suck a bit, just min-raise.

If you mean you woulda bet .14 on this flop, that's not really a problem. It looks like you are representing an A so if anyone does have another A they might be inclined to call you (especially at this level). Then again your hand was 6 - handed which doesn't happen as much at higher limits.

bet always based on the pot. if you overbet the pot that is the result you get - people mainly fold. With a strong hand like this you want callers. bet 3/4 the pot. overbetting the pot is fine at penny tables, but its not necessary here. save it for say you have two pair and think they're drawing. here you've almost surely got the best hand, and its really really unlikely anyone's gonna pass you with one card, or even two.
