    Default AK early with limpers

I primarily play the $10s on Stars fyi.

It seems like if you pick up AK on the button or CO with 2-3 limpers when the blinds are low, raising 5-8bb just isn't getting it done. What do you raise to in that situation? Ideally you just want to take it down right there or get it heads-up against someone. AK kinda sucks in a 3-way or 4-way pot.

Following hand may or may not belong in the bad beats forum, but is what prompted me to make this post. This is just an example, this is one situation that I have a little trouble with. Notes: was pretty sure that I had Manning beat on the flop but knew he had outs to a better hand. I reraised to isolate and done. I think a $300 raise preflop would be better.

I fold on the flop. Too little invested in the hand, and too early in the tourney. Good preflop bet.

About as bad as a flop you could get having top pair. AJ, QK, KT, 9J, TT, KK, QQ all have you. Its too likely he has one of these hands, just move on.

I just bet 3xBB then see what happens. If I think I have the best hand I will play it less aggresive than normal and fold to any aggresion. Too early to go nuts with....unless they become the nuts...

With two limpers you normally want to add a few BB to the normal 3x raise as you did. If you're finding that's not folding anybody, bump it to 8-10x. 3x normally won't fold anyone early.

With that board your likely screwed. Easy fold.

BTW, you've got 7 outs so definitely not a bad beat after the flop.

    3xBB + 2xLimpers

15/30 with 3 limpers to you

=90+180 =270. Raise to about 250 or even just 200.
