I primarily play the $10s on Stars fyi.
It seems like if you pick up AK on the button or CO with 2-3 limpers when the blinds are low, raising 5-8bb just isn't getting it done. What do you raise to in that situation? Ideally you just want to take it down right there or get it heads-up against someone. AK kinda sucks in a 3-way or 4-way pot.
Following hand may or may not belong in the bad beats forum, but is what prompted me to make this post. This is just an example, this is one situation that I have a little trouble with. Notes: was pretty sure that I had Manning beat on the flop but knew he had outs to a better hand. I reraised to isolate and done. I think a $300 raise preflop would be better.
