    Default Early MTT hand

    Any way I could have gotten away from this/played it differently?

    Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    BB (t1135)
    UTG (t2000)
    UTG+1 (t1110)
    UTG+2 (t1795)
    Hero (t790)
    MP2 (t885)
    MP3 (t875)
    CO (t670)
    Button (t1095)
    SB (t840)

    Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Q, Q.
    3 folds, Hero raises to t150, 5 folds, BB calls t100.

    Flop: (t325) J, 8, Q (2 players)
    BB checks, Hero bets t150, BB calls t150.

    Turn: (t625) T (2 players)
    BB bets t200, Hero is all-in t490, BB calls t290.

    River: (t1115) 9 (2 players)

    Final Pot: t1115

    Results in white:
    lawst425 shows [ Kh, As ] a straight, ten to ace.
    Stone_face2 shows [ Qc, Qd ] a straight, eight to queen.
    lawst425 wins 1605 chips from the main pot with a straight, ten to ace.

    bet 300++ or push on the flop, thats a scary board, you obviously just got unlucky though, the only way a T would help anyone was if they had a gut draw so you cant really figure them to be on that.

    i would of been afraid of the flush more than the straight that came out .. jus unlucky .. keep playin

    This is my nightmare scenario.
    Both the flush and straight draws are on and you have the set.
    I dont know what some more experienced players would say to you as i play only lower limit but i push always here. Ok statistically someone will at some point turn over a better hand and you will lose, but i just think that the amount of times your set will hold up or improve it is worth it. Afterall if it holds up just a few times on those occasions you have a good standing for the later stages here and at a cash table the bonus outways the loss of a buy in.

    I think you played it fine, got unlucky. Literally no way avoiding that one.

    In a PartyPoker SnG like that, I push on the flop and be happy with the extra chips in the pot.

    push flop, go broke anyway when he calls thinking his overs are outs.
