    Default $45 tournaments...good enough?

    It was a $45 buy-in tournaments.

    I folded most hands...

    Blinds $25/50 (1o players)

This dude raised to $500, I re-raised to $1500. The button folded, the SB, BB folded. EVERYBODY FOLDED! The dude and I had the same amount of chips. It didn't even take him a second to go all-in. I knew I got caught bluffing (I had 4,7 os. iI folded most hands and some people did respect my raise) I had to call because I felt stupid raising him. (I just wanted to leave) He turned over Ace, 10 OS.........OFF SUIT! I was like......"wtf" then I flopped 2 pairs but he got me with running 10s. I was trying to set up a bluff because the very next hand, I got Ad, Qd. Why do people over value Ace, 10 especially when it's OS? I mean...u r 4/1 underdog against aj, aq, ak. I hate playing people who doesnt know how to play. I asked him if he would have called me if I would hae went all-in and he said "HECK YEA." I was so speechless.......ace, 10 os.......oh my gosh.

Most people don't raise it 10x bb then back down. You're better off making moves at small pots where a bunch of people limp in. Also, a lot of people are multi-tabling, so don't think you can just fold fold fold and get a tight image.

The best thing to do now is make a note that he over values any ace then bust him when you get AK.

I'd need more information here, but generally speaking, I agree that this was a bad time to play chicken with someone after his raise of 10x. In SnG's, I try to be very frugal with chips, b/c the blinds normally move so fast, and you only get so many chances. In a large, slow MTT or ring game, you can play around a lot more.

Secondly, you didn't say how much you called AI..but why did you just call b/c you felt "stupid"? If you can't lay these big bluffs down and poise for a comeback, you are going to waste a lot of buy-ins on these risky moves. I think it's pretty satisfying--after a bad beat or after I'm caught speeding--that I hunker down and make a great comeback.

To tell you the truth, I thought he was really gonna fold it If I came over the top. I mean...ace. 10 os isnt thta strong of a hand. If it was ace 10 suited then sure why not.

But yea, I just wanted to go home. There are just those days when you wanna go home and you are just dying to play.

Well if you had a read on him that made you think he was going to forfeit that many chips than I think it's a good play. Always trust your reads. However, it seems to me that this guy probably has no idea about position, and will over value hands like J10 too. He is probably surfing the net most of the time, and has no idea that you're a tight player.
