i wouldn't even wait until the flop to do it. i would bump it up preflop to make sure hes not the type of fish to call it down with any pair on the board.

Yup. You've gotta send the message that your blinds arn't for sale. If you defend your blinds early, you'd be suprised how many walks you can get later. (Early as in 25/50 on party sngs)
