Default A few early SnG hands...Pretty sure I did some things wrong.

All $5+$.50 NL Texas Hold'em SNGs at PokerRoom.

First, we'll start with one where I may have been able to extract more chips...

    Level 3 in the tournament.

    Seat 6 is the button.

Seat 1: ninetimes ($1,280 in chips)
    Seat 2: chubbyrain33 ($1,465 in chips)
    Seat 3: bong10 ($6,855 in chips)
    Seat 6: paully31 ($195 in chips)
    Seat 7: SweetAz x ($2,410 in chips)
    Seat 9:Hero ($1,455 in chips)
    Seat 10: HOODFAMOUS1 ($1,340 in chips)

    ANTES/BLINDS
SweetAz x posts blind ($25), Hero posts blind ($50).

    Hero dealt [3D,KD]

    Hero bets $500
    HOODFAMOUS1 folds

    SweetAz x folds.

    SHOWDOWN

How do I play this better? Bear in mind, I've just started 2-tabling the SNGs while staggering them, and it's a little difficult to start, so I don't really have reads on anyone.

Second...More chip extraction issues...Level 2 in the tournament.

Any better way to gain more chips? Should I have bet the flop? Smaller/bigger bets?

In this one, I raise to 160 with my jacks, as suggested by someone in one of my earlier HHs. I do like the 160 raise better than my previous 200, as it lets me let go of my hand easier. Anyway, I get some callers, and hit a bad flop. As usual with me (one of the major leaks in my game), if I miss early on in the tourney with a "big" hand (usually AK), I still bet it on the flop. In this case, the way he took so long to call made me think he either had a pair of tens, possibly the flush draw (as drawing odds were cheap), or possibly a lower pp. I bet again on the turn because of the flop weakness I sensed, and it worked this time. Still early in the tourney, no real solid reads on this guy yet. If I don't win this pot after putting in my turn bet, I'm not terribly screwed, but it'll be a bit of a climb back up in the tourney. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I screwed up somewhere in this hand, anyone care to say how they think it should've been played? All comments are greatly appreciated.

hand 1: you did fine, you dont want anyone to call here, you have top pair and a terrible kicker, im glad to take this pot down uncontested every time.
hand 2: you got plenty out of this, not much you can do with a flopped flush out of position. an attempt at a check raise probably would have just lost you a bet.
hand 3: i personally would have raised it more than that with 2 early position limpers, and when you say thats a bad flop, its not, its only one overcard. its pretty safe to bet here and it should be easy to sense weakness. and you were kinda betting like a pussy the whole hand compared to the pot size.

Hand 1 : No need to be betting that much over the pot. The pot is $200, so I would make it $200 on the flop. If you bet 500 and run into someone else who has a king, your going to be outkicked. I dont mind a call here also, you do have the king high flush draw also.

Hand 2 : I think you played it well. I doubt you would get much more out of someone with middle pair and a flush draw on the board.

Hand 3 : I like the reraise preflop, big enough to weed out all the Kx Ax crap. I might have bet a little more than just 200 on the flop, just to have a better idea of where you stand. Someone with just a ten might call that, but if you bet the pot and get called, you'd have to assume he has you beat.

I have to disagree with bair and agree with fy here. So you bet $500 into a $200 pot. What happens when you get called? Are you going to check? Are you going to bluff? If you check and the guy bets $150. What are you going to do? You have top pair and the pot odds are 8 to 1. You can't fold in that case. On the river he bets $250. Now the pot odds are 6 to 1. You'll still probably be sucked in to calling. Now you've lost $800 on a hand where you limped in because he shows KQ or something similar. I really have a problem with someone validating your play here. If people don't understand things like pot odds then they shouldn't be giving advice to people on how to lose their money. You should have bet the pot. That should have chased out anyone without a legitimate hand and someone with a big hand would probably chase you out of the pot at that point.

You managed to suck someone playing like an idiot into giving you chips. You did ok. I wouldn't get too smart with this hand. You might have someone with an ace of suit stick around if you check it and hit the nuts. Then you'll lose half or all of your chipstack figuring this out.

I like your play in the third. The pre-flop raise was a bit high, but within limits. Your bet was alright although a flush still would be ok in calling there probably. The guy pausing may or may not mean anything. Good aggression and bet on 4th. You were the aggressor in this hand and did well.
