Pre-flop, I figured just calling would be right to get the hand heads-up, get me a look at the flop, and then decide from there. I didn't reraise because I wanted to be able to dump this on an unfavorable flop, and I'm out of position. After the flop, I'm almost positive I have the best hand, but check to his aggression. I thought for a while about raising, but wasn't sure if that would be a better play? Checking the turn because I almost certainly have the best hand, and, as hoped, he bluffed at it. I really didn't expect THAT bad a hand, but I'm not complaining. Should I have raised him on the flop?

Pretty much anything you do there you're getting all your money taken or you're getting all their money. If you ever play this guy again you'll know.

With that many chips in the pot you're either folding on the flop (no reason if you don't think he has an over pair), or you're getting all your chips in by the river.

On a side note, be careful with pursuing that goal of yours. Ambition is nice, but don't let it make you play above your roll. That's the surest route to busting out.

that guy made a huge raise, looks fishy. i don't know about preflop, but postflop play here is fine.

I don't call such big raises preflop with AQ (with the blinds that low), a Q high flop is about the only flop that you can be happy with. Unless you have a read on the guy that he makes such big raises with crappy hands then I think its best to fold preflop here.

Why check call with TPTK? I think you would be better off check raising him however if you check raise him any decnet amount youre close to being pot committed and may as well go all in. THEREFORE, I think you should have led out on the flop, as a probe/value bet. If you lead out, i think that hands that beat you reraise you and you can get out

The problem I see here is that you played too big of a pot too early on with not that great of a hand (for that size of a pot).

I fold preflop. AQo can be in a hurtlock in a raised pot. I only call with AQo if I had a killer read.

I'm not a big fan of calling any raise with AQo, but 10x on a tight table OOP is not good. And yes, raise AI on flop. If a heart, K or T comes off you're not happy. I'm confused how you can have a tight table read but are sure you're ahead on this flop.... I guess you're saying you knew he had AK? Any other pair beats you that would bring it in 10x.

I personally do not like AQ. At a tight table AQ is probably getting dominated preflop with a large raise. Although that was an extremely fishy raise there. I think a good play is either reraise or fold.

Re-raise that preflop and you are commiting half your chips. Fold that crap to such a huge raise. There are better places for your chips.
