You're getting almost 2 to 1 on this call. I think he has KK or QQ at least half the time here. The board is not scary. Call and pay off a set if he has it.

KK will probably re-raise preflop... The call/call/push says set of tens or nines to me...

It's obvious op is expecting a call. Which means you can't.

Unless he's a complete moron... Which is always a possibility.

With his action, the range is probably AA/KK/TT/99 and you'd be lucky to have him with KK. Though this is ofcourse against an op who isnt a complete moron.

ok. i called, he had TT. i put him on TT-AA. I guess the only thing i really could've seen him doing the reraise with was KK, but if he was ballsy enough to raise me AI on the turn with KK I should've figured he would've reraised me preflop. at the time i was thinking, he better have kk/qq/jj, but if i'd thought about it i could've easily eliminated qq/jj, and kk was really a longshot.

He only calls on the flop, and then raises huge on the turn. This almost always indicates a big hand when the other player represented a big pair preflop.

The opponent is probably just executing a typical slow-play here.

He's getting about 3 to 1 on this call, not including rake. I think it's +EV without reads here to call here even though there's a good chance you are beat. It definately looks like 99 or TT here, so with a good read, you may be able to make a smart laydown.

    otherguys $50 allin is into a $72

    = 1.44

so only aprx 1.5/1 pot odds, not great at all.

I think rillas logic is excellent.

PS How can you quickly eliminate JJ and QQ, simply because he should put you on kk/aa? Since QQ and JJ are the only hands you beat, without a read this is a hard laydown but as rilla says he expects you to call, he's up against big aggression.

Why would J-J or Q-Q call on the flop, then raise all-in on the turn? It doesn't make sense.

what matters is that i'm calling 50 for a 150 pot, the pot is never 72.

I do agree with rilla's logic. I think if I had taken the time to calm down for a minute during the hand, I could've folded it. But, at the time I was raising and he pushed immediately after i bet and i just called quick. I find that's how i get into trouble the most, when its just a button click away and i don't stop to think (usually because i don't want to stop to think). at the time i was just praying he had kings or maybe queens and decided since there were all unders he wouldn't be able to get away from it. but, he knew what i had, imo this reraise is only made by a set or aces a lot more than 50% of the time, i just needed to stop to think about it.

I find that opps with overpairs to the board usually make their stand on the flop to see where they are... it would be a very odd play for him to make this with anything but a set.
