This is annoying.... he probably has AK and is pooing himself. You can afford to fold here though.

    i push preflop.

if i just call the preflop raise, i'll call his flop bet too.

Definite push. If he has higher pair, then whatever. More likely he has Ax or something. x < 9

why would u push preflop here? the blinds are at 50/100 and you have 3k chips. Theres a big chance hes just steaking, but do u realyl need to risk losing half ur stack?

I call the all in becuase hes full of crap, any over pair would milk it and try and build up a stack.

I'd call him. With a higher pocket i think he would have raised more. I think he is on a steal. What was the outcome?

i reraise him preflop. But not having done that I probably call with the 9s but fold your 99

Can't fold 99 here, especially after the smooth call. Pre flop the play is either make it about 900 to go or a push, dependent on which is more likely to fold him out.

Is it possible he made this play because you're so tight you won't raise with 99 against the SB?

It's a tough one. TT and JJ might act this way after getting a flop they like with no overs to their pair. Then again, 77 and 88 would act this way too. Other than that, it's a board he's hoping you both missed, and he's on a steal.

I call, because there are only two hands that seem to be beating you. TT is the most likely given the bet. JJ might just bet pot I think. Push and hope he doesn't have TT or JJ.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I think 70% of the time he's stealing, 15% of the time he has a smaller pair than yours, and 15% of the time he has tens or jacks. I'm calling.

Agree with questioning of preflop push and I agree with the reasoning to call here.

I'd say 75%+ of early pushes like this after a semi-scary flop are Ace High idiots trying to get their overbet back.

Point taken, didn't realize the SB was first to bet.

Well I have a slightly different take on this hand. He could have A-A or K-K here. He is disappointed that it gets folded to him, but does not want to limp aces from the SB. He goes for a 3x raise and prays for a call.
    1. He says crap....two suited and paired flop I gotta take this now....puuuush.
    2. He says it is unlikely that somone calling a rasie hit that flop....lemme stomp the flop to make it look like a lame steal attempt...I might get called by a middle PP or A-K, either way nothing to lose by going for it.

I go with option 2, I have done it with decent results....sometimes fast play pays better than a slow play.

    EDIT:
BTW - I also push those nines there, you will give yourself 2 ways to win...either he folds or you have the best hand. As gabe says it will certainly discourage limping and raising you blind unless they really have something.

Push pre-flop, call after the flop. Your losing if he has overpair either way.
