Default Plz advise a flop bet here. What would your bet be?

Obviously a turn bet should have been higher.. What would be the *right* anount, in your opinion?

After this hand, there is an example of what I was dealing with, with this guy. PLease advise on it.. I felt it was a good push.. How do you feel? My read was that guy was an idiot, though.. Maybe I should have just let it go.. At what point..

Thanks for any advice and opinions. I don't post much of these, so any advice would be appreciated.

    I don't get it.

In the first hand all he had was what you bet so how could you have bet more?

In the second hand what the hell were you thinking? What a horribly played hand. Give it up already. Is ace high a good hand? No. Fold. Or in this case take a cheap card and maybe bluff raise on the turn when it looks a little more genuine. I still say give it up though.

Slow down on the turn a bit on hand one. Other than that, he sucked out on you. It happens.

Don't raise AJ so much in EP, and pay attention to his min-raise. Usually that means trouble.

Yeah..wtf is going on? The first hand I probably wouldn't make a disgustingly large overbet with trips tk...then on the next pot, who tells you ace high is good? Do you ever raise preflop?

I think your main problem is not being able to put your opponents on a hand. On the first hand you have to think about what hands your opponent would be calling your overbet with. The flush draw or a jack are really the only possibilities so slow down on that turn, though you're still probably going to lose a lot on that one.

The second hand is just foolish. I generally stay away from raising AJo into limpers and especially not to 6x the bb. Also, when you do raise that much, the only hands that should be calling you are pocket pairs and A/high kick so don't try bluffing that pot, and if you do, fold to that re-raise, you have to know you are definitely beaten at that point. Also, pot sized bluffs are a BAD idea.

Don't get discouraged though and keep posting HHs. Thx.

rofl - I like the commentary.. Thanks for the advice!

Not the choicests hands I'd played. I knew they weren't good but I wanted to see your valuable opinions.

Yeah. I'd say putting people on a hand is sometimes my weaker point. Even worse than that is expecting them to fold - usually they don't

Raising 6xBB with AJ will lose you more money than it makes you that is a certainty. Also there is a theory on bluffing, if you can win a 6$ pot with a $6 bluff more than 56% of the time (55% would be dead even cause rake takes 5%) , then its a profitable play. Your opponents seem to have very good reads on you cause in hand #2 he knew his 55 was good. Your play seems very random
You should try putting your opponents on hands, ex in hand #2, when he moves all in what could he possible have? The only hand you could beat is A9, anything AT+ has you beat, as well as any pocket pair 22+ Instead of being impulsive, slow down and try to put your opponent on a hand, and if you are unable to beat that hand give it up.

    Tom,

Thanks for the advice / insight. I value it greatly.

BTW - You played with me often lately - I was the guy that mentioned "You're an FTR'r?" just yesterday. Please don't give away my PS name, as I probably have some enemies here, I am sure. As for reads on me - that's why I mentioned the previous stuff. I have an extremely bad reputation and I often get called by odd hands to the point where no one expects me to ever have a hand. I expect that's why he thought 5s were good. Sometimes, a bad & laggy maniac rep doesn't pay off initially because of the suckouts that happen because of the frequent calls , but I usually can tilt a table and have the chips roll into my lap :P
