Bigrich was asking for some advice on how to slowplay, so here it is..

Notice how I bet just enough to keep him in the hand. On the river he lands his ace, which he feels compelled to bet, allowing me to check-raise him all-in.

Nice... I'd be pushing a little harder because of the fear of JT, but I think that could be a silly fear. I think I might be losing out on some sweet dough because of pushing out draws.

Then comes me losing my stack because someone stuck through my pot-sized bets to catch a runner runner straight, with one overcard to my pocket aces.

YES! This is one of my biggest problems! On a scary board (1 to a flush, str8) , I'm afraid to NOT overbet. It certainly hurts my ability to extract on good hands. I don't know what it would take for me to be able to relax a little and bet for value instead of deterrents. I'd been burnt too may times in the early years

actually i wasnt, but thanks anyway.. its always good to look over hands by good players. And it was useful anyway, to me, and i'm sure to some other players aswell.

Did you actually read my post?? it was having a go at the idiot who complimented me for slowlaying when i was the leading bettor (making full pot bets) on every street...

EDIT: On the matter of perhaps pushing it harder on flush/straight drawing boards.. At microstakes.. yes deffinately. At a higher level its quite different, bet bets wont get paid off as often and you've got to get the value for the hand i think.. With a set, even if the straight or flush hits... 7 outs to FH/quads on turn.. 10 outs for the river.. By the river you hit the FH/quads roughly as often as they hit the flush or OESD anyway. Warning: This is coming from a microstakes player, i have limited expierience at anything higher than .10/.25, Though i do watch it alot
