I never really understood the point of the stop and go. I'd say just push or fold preflop though.

has he been raising alot? will he call your push with A high? do you have a good chance of winning the blinds the next hand? are the shorter stacks likely to go out soon because they play bad?

unless he's been PF raising alot lately, i would fold that hand, especially being out of position with no one else in the pot.

An all in after the flop would be very callable, it would be a less than pot sized bet.

What reads do you have on him? Has he been blind stealing like that a lot. I suspect you might need to outflop him to win this pot.

i don't like doing a stop n go against an UTG raise.

Nor do I, especially not with KJ. But you can certainly do it against some types of players, which is why reads are needed for this play.

he hasnt been very active at all so I believe his bet represents a better than average hand.

the table as a whole has been very passive around the bubble, which is why its gone on for so damn long.

I figure with the better than avg hand he has, I should probably fold this, and I can probably pick up chips in an easier spot later.

cards don't matter so much in a stop n go. i might do it against a button raise with 27o, but not a UTG raise.

I think they matter a tad more in this particular situation, as (as I said previously) an all in after the flop would be less than a pot sized bet, and is easily callable.

its hardly 'easily callable.' the guy would have to call allin on a flop he misses most of the time.

the good thing about the stop and go is that it puts people back on their heels, and most poeople will fuck pot odds and say, damn i missed, I like my chips and just fold when they miss.

    I'd just fold.

    Stop n Go applications:

1.) Postional raisers / Blind steals
2.) Have a good read, putting them on overs and repping lower flops
3.) Late in tournaments when people look for a reason to fold instead of call

    When not to use them:

1.) When the raise is in EP.
2.) When the raiser is extremely loose and unpredictable.
3.) When the raise is short stacked to the point of pushing the flop with 2 overs.
