    Default Play this hand....

My image: weak/tight, showed one hand and it was a winner.
opponent: active, mostly limping, play is ok not real fishy but not very clever either

I would love some comments on this, and then I will continue with the hand, the results and my own comments....

if he is mostly limping he must have something here. too early for a coin toss plus it looks to be a multiway pot. good chance i'd fold.

I agree. I'd drop this unless I thought I had a dead-on read. You've got enough chips left to pick a better spot. AK is a great hand to be the agressor with, but not always a good hand to be calling with (at least not for me anyway). If for some reason I decided to get in this pot I'd raise with the expectation that all my chips are going in the middle.

im raising this, probably a KQ or AQ for the other players, im re raising and seeing were i stand on the hand, if both players re raise me again then im folding but with AK im re raising a 4XBB raise

    I would fold.
Raise from UTG signifies strenght - its a minraise tho, wich can be both good and bad (a strong hand wanting calls, or just some moron raising UTG with a mediocre hand). The reraise signifies more strenght. AKo is good and often I would reraise - but not here. Your opponents have presented strenght, and there are many yet to act behind you. Fold and preserve your chips, the blinds still arent very high and you have an ok stack.

I agree with elanto. So many times, you will run into hands that you have dominated: AQ, AJ, KQ, KJ. Re-raise and see where you stand.

FOLD. minraise from UTG, that shows strength, then UTG+1 called, then someone in MP made a nice reraise, you probably dont have the best hand, no point in risking it.

Well, you are all damn right (well most of you )
As soon as he raised, I felt he had As but I decided to call because I talked myself into believing he may have had A/K or a weaker hand.....do'h!

After the flop he bets 100....now, I am saying out loud "He has Aces" But what does a simpleton like me do.....I call! Same on the turn

Why do I do this? When we know our instincts are dead on but can't get away from the hand....

I was so brain dead in this hand that I played it to the river and called off the rest of my chips! Was it morbid curiosity, a desire to lose.....WTF!

Knowing when I am beat and making key laydowns is a strength in my game, so to have this happen made me ill.

this is why calling is the absolute worst play here, theres two options either raise or fold...if you raisew it lets say to 500 the guy with aces will probably re raise and youll know exactly were you are but if u just cvall your really hoping for a miracle flop b/c if an ace flops youll practically be drawing dead...

I think it's push fold. Hand is impossible to play post flop if either one calls a re raise, and the pot is so big it's tough to fold. I guess the other option is raise to 600 or so and check fold from there, whatever flops.
