Since it was a 4-way pot, should I have tried betting the pot onthe flop?

i check and see how i like the action. i'm more likely to call a bet from late position rather than early position, too.

How big of a bet relative to the pot size would have been a decent feeler bet?

I ended up check-raising and taking down the pot after a weak 1/4 pot bet was made, btw.

i don't mind the check -raise of someone in later position. like gabe said if someone bets out right behind you i'm probly folding if i have no read. i dont think 1/3 the pot sends the right msg and if i was in late position i would probbly come over the top with nothing. i would bet at least half and more like 2/3 the pot. most of the time if you're ahead you will take it down.
