Paid too much for info?

    Default Paid too much for info?

    So, I just got moved to this table, pretty close to the money in the $10/freezout. I thought his minraise was fishy, but was is fishy trappy or just a cheap steal? One way to find out...

    Well... I think I shoulda just folded since I had no idea what was going on.
    I didn't want to call, so I just put in the continuation bet for him... when he re-reraised, I KNEW I was against a monster.

    I would prefer you do this with a hand that is worth something like a mid pocket pair or AK/AQ. There is the possibility that he holds a hand that has your J9 dominated that he would call you down with.

    Did you see him as capable of laying down a hand? If he was fishy there's obviously more chance he wouldn't. Also, we've all seen that some fish like to minraise with KJ or so in early position (ooh, face cards!). the trouble is distinguishing those times from when they have something much stronger as their play can be similar.

    So, IMO there's better spots to try a resteal especially with the healthy stack you have.
