    Default Beating Tighter SNGs

I've recently been dabbling in the empire 10+1s, moving up from the 5s. I know a lot of people say their isn't any difference in difficulty at these levels, but the 10+1s are noticably tighter, especially early on. I usually like to play really tight until there's about 5 people left, and can then usually play agressive an get ITM. but with everyone playing tight, it's really difficult to play tight as well, and I don't want to be making a lot of moves early on, because the pots are so small and they tend to work less often. so what would be a good strategy here?

limp, call 3x-4x raises with implied odds hands - PPs, scs, suited aces even. Also makes you look like more of an action player when you do raise. Once you get to the third blind level or so it's probably time to start stealing if it's still tight.

If the table image is tight then play aggressive and vice-versa

even up to the $33s you can play mostly tight and win, however when the blinds get up to 25-50 or so, it's time to go for the occasional steal.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

The empire $10+1's are rarely tight, its not uncommon to see 2 or 3 players disappear from the table before the blinds have moved from 15-30. Play tight early, get super aggressive when the blinds hit 50-100. Even when the blinds are at 25-50, I dont loosen up that much b/c theres still no need to, should still have 12xbb at least (600 chips +).

I find that there is a noticable increase in the tightness at the $20+2's at Empire but before that its an all-in fest with people pushing weak hands like AJ KJ KQ Ax. Sit tight, double up, win.

Thats how you win. You push those hands as you just described as weak on the bubble. You dont win by sitting tight and doubling up. IMO

ilikeaces has the right idea. you gotta push with hands like KQ KJ AJ, hell even Ax on the bubble. steal the blinds or get a call, and then push some more. take your opponents chips and come in 1st. i know theres a very drastic counter argument, but i play aggressive like hell on the bubble and have an ITM of about 45% which works for me.

if your not playing aggro on the bubble, you are playing it wrong. What is the counter argument anyways? Wait for cards and hope the blinds dont eat you?

We're on the same page ilikeaces. All i was saying is that hands like AJ KQ etc I fold early on. When we hit the bubble these hands are gold, and the only way to play them is to push, I dont bother playing them any other way.
