Default 600 NL 6-max iNsAnE!! (lots of hands inside)

This game is iNsAnE there is no other way to put it. The players are all laggy, some of them good at it, others not so good. I played for just one hour and it was the craziest hour of my life, experienced a 700$ downswing then made back 900$ in a matter of minutes.

I dont think I'm moving up from this level for a while, need at least 35+ buy-ins just to feel comfortable with the shit you have to do at this level heh.

I'll post more hands as I get them

One hand that stood out in this session:

When someone's on tilt like this guy (he just lost a big pot with his set against a straight), they tend to bluff a lot at this level. I just called him down with my middle pair..

In the second hand did you think of raising the turn? He bet out the same on the flop wich is normally a sign of weekness. A raise here might win it right then. Also a raise here and call by him would lead to him checking the river to you and then you can check your middle pair if your straight dosnt hit. I know in this instance he dosnt even bet the river so it dosnt matter. Just something to keep in mind for future hands.

Why risk more money to find out if he has my middle pair beat? I can just call and find out. Sure he might hit two pair or trips, but its unlikely. And he could still have me beat, I want to see a showdown as cheap as possible.

Actually, I think I remember seeing high stakes 2+2'ers reccommending turn raises in order to get cheap showdowns with marginal hands. Might be something worth toying around with a couple times at least.

yeah the idea is you toss a min raise out there on the turn. Lets say its a normal progression betting pot where you are heads up, acting after him. He bets something like $15 on flop, $25 on turn, You can expect something around $40 on the river. So why not raise the turn $25 or $30 more and save yourself $10 or $15 bucks when he checks since you are now leading the betting then you can check the river. Just a thought.

Here I pulled a reraise with AQs after I found people raising with any two on the button and/or cutoff. It paid off nicely after someone with a smaller flush fell into a bear trap.

This guy was on tilt from losing a big pot the previous hand. I suspected he had weak holdings from the beginning and reraised him pre-flop with JJ(!). Sure enough..

My biggest takedown to date in 6-max, a 1300$ pot .. check-raise good on the turn? I wanted to fool a draw into trying to steal the pot, but another guy with trips with weaker kicker works too heh

Someone calls my flop semi-bluff drawing dead to a lower flush draw. They fall into a bear trap on the river when they catch two pair and i catch a straight.

damn, i can't imagine how many people play these stakes underbankrolled... I'm sure that's why you see tilters at these levels...

Lately I've been completely dominating the 600 NL 6-max game on party like I did the 400 NL 6-max before. Its just not that much harder and the number of high stakes full ring players that are unused to shorthanded is many. These players are the fish at this level, they are used to camping and get completely pwned in shorthanded. Cant wait to move up to 1000 NL 6-max, I dont think itll be much harder.

I think the play that is really winning it for me is the bear trap. So much bluffing at this level, that playing ultra-passive at the right times when someone is bluffing (espically when you have position) can pay off big. This has made more money than anything else.

Edit: Of course, I practice good table selection so that might be it. I never join a table with too many sharks, or a table with even a single shark with good position on me.

How to get someone with position you all-in with a king high flush when you have an ace-high flush on the turn when the flush draw hits:

Let me tell you it aint easy.. this hand could have very easily ended with me only getting a 100$ off of him

This hand illustrates how not to lose your stack when your top pair meets a set heads up:

I managed to lose a 1/6th of my stack instead of 6/6ths heh

This is some good shit. I'm not so sure about someone avoiding paying you off with a 2 card king high flush but maybe its higher thinking at work there. I'm still looking forward to 200nl. Cant wait to be up there with you.

Its not that he could fold, because you cant fold a king-high flush. The thing is, it is still difficult to get all his chips in the middle on the turn and river (starting with a very small pot) since I lack position and I dont know what he has.

This is why your re-raise on turn is so good. Because he calls you can put him on a strong hand and thus you can make a strong river bet, AI in this case. I only play nl200 at the moment but I have started to learn to use raising as a source of information to get some really big pots.
