After a recent period of experimenting with different sites and structures it seems that the PokerStars turbos still give you more room to maneuver than Party's. Any thoughts on this? Would you consider Stars turbos a middleground between Party and Stars regular SNG's?

Ok, so you mean that the Stars turbos are actually slower than Partys regular sngs? How long time does an average stars turbo take to play? And why do you (gabe and others) play turbos instead of regular SnG's?

Because they're not terribly boring. And they're half as long. So (correct me if I'm wrong) you're ROI at regulars would have to be twice as high to justify the extra time it takes. If you're a good player, you should have a higher at non turbo SNG's, but it's not gonna be that much higher.

Someone analyze my thinking there. Is that correct?

To be sure turbos do move more quickly but not twice as quickly. They can be more exciting as well....just as short handed SnGs. However be aware that turos tend to amplify problems and mistakes people make. If you have small holes they tend to become larger under the increasing blind pressure.....if you have large holes - well you get the idea. I play tubos and short handed for a change of pace to keep up my aggression and just for fun. I know it would be impossile for me to maintain anywhere near my ITM and ROI % in the turbos...people are simply too willing to gamble, mostly because they have to. As to how much difference there will be in your results between normal games and turbo games...well that will depend on how strong your game is....anyway some thing to consider before making a permanant jump.

On PS the turbos at 50, 100 and 200 fill a lot quicker than then the regular tables, so I have had to get used to playing more of them. The variance goes up but most people do not adjust to blinds late, so as long as you're playing according to your M you're in good shape. At the lower $$ levels they are gamble fests right from the start and you can usually get big hands paid. Higher $$ levels people seem to camp a bit (maybe they got used to getting paid at the low levels), not uncommon to have 7-8 still around at 75/150.

After getting used to the turbo one tables I find the time/reward ratio lacking in the regulars, so I mostly play turbo 1 table and regular 2 tables when (if!) they start up.

as soupie would say along with me, turbos are crapshoots...

might be a crapshoot, but id be willing to flip a coin with you for 50 bucks a flip if you gave me 1.009:1 odds, and u guaranteed me 200 flips an hour.

(i suck with odds so wat i mean is, give me a slight advantage, no matter how slight, and volume will make up for the relative closeness in odds of winning)
