Default Good idea to limp in with AA? Four players left.

There are four players left so the blinds are at 200/400 and we started with 1500 on an 18 man SnG. I got As, Ac on small blind. Everyone folds so I limp in to get some action. I was thinking if I raise, I'm just stealing blinds. So BB checks. Flop is 6c Th 3c. I figure I'm gonna slow play my AA to get some action. Turn comes 3d. BB bets 500. Of course I call with my AA. Didn't put him on having a 3. Thought he was stealing using a scare card. River is a Kc. I put out 500. He pauses and reraises all-in. Thought he may have paired the K. I call. He shows 6, 3 which makes a full-house. WTF, I should've raised the AA to isolate the possible hands that my oppenent may have.

Any opinions? Do you all still think it's a good idea to limp in with AA?

chip stacks? What is your table image?

Generally IF I slow play AA it's either pre flop or on the flop, but not both.

well, i dont like letting BB play for free under any circumstance toward the end, especially when i have a killer hand. I'd raise 2-3x BB so that if I do get a call, I have some sense of what he's holding. if i let him check, BB could be holding crap such as 27o or 36o, as seen. i also would have bet on the flop because of the flush draw. once the board got paired and he threw out a bet, you must have known you were in trouble.

i'm ok with limping AA, but you gotta be careful and willing to let go when the board pairs or theres a flush/straight draw out there.

not always true...you slow play it and flop the nuts...i slow play it again until a bet or raise is needed.

I'd only limp it if the table was aggro enough that I expected to get a raise from someone else. At a table where players are regularly limping/folding preflop, I'm probably going to make a standard raise here. Better to take down a small pot than let someone destack you with a random hand. I definitely don't like slowplaying all the way to the turn.

You had absolutly no information on his hand. For all you know he was slow playing a set of 3s on the flop and just hit quads. That's the tradeoff when you're slowplaying like this...you will get action, but you'll get no information.

Don't claim to ever think it was a good idea to limp with AA, and certainly not in that position.

one play i find great with AA or other strong holdings when folded to in the SB at this stages of the tournement is to Push pre flop. If the blinds are any way substantial and your opponent thinks you're on a steal he's just hung himself. If you've been raising/stealing blinds alot, this move works more often

Agreed. With AA from the SB, you are playing "I hope these aces hold up" regardless of how you bet pre flop and on the flop. If you raise pre flop and he calls, then you bet the flop and he calls...What the f does he have? Made a set? 2 pair? absolutely nothing? You're aces are most likely not improving, so its best to get the money in while you know they are in the lead, or take down a small pot(his blind).

When you limp AA from the SB, *every* flop is a scary one, because the big blind could have absolutely any two cards.

Never ever slow play aces. They should carry a government health warning. Standard raise 4xBB or more depending on the blinds every time. Letting anyone look for cheap is asking for you to go bust if they catch their cards.

I f'd up again, I just min-raised AA and let someone catch an openeder which he didn't let go and caught a straight.
