Default very late in a tourney, very shortstacked and 55

my friend was playing a tourney yesterday and there were about 15 people left out of 350. he picks up 55 with an M of 1.5 and is ready to push it when an average stack raises to 3bb in EP. i think i would still push over and hope for a coinflip, but instead he folded saying that he would rather be FTA. considering his chipstack, is he able to make this decision?

the outcome was interesting too, as the button pushed over the raise and he called. the initial raiser had KK while the button had QQ.

im just wondering if you guys push over the raise and pray for a coinflip or lay it down...because it doesnt seem as if there are 2 right answers.

What's the difference between a large cheese pizza and a poker player?

A large cheese pizza can feed a family of four.

dont go in even with a hand when you know you are behind imo
i'd prefer to blind out or get caught pushing 74off in a decent sitaution than know im pushing behind and need basically a miracle.

still everyone should respect his GAMBool if he did push anyways.

$10+1, money is all at the top. first is $1020, 10th is $60. he ended up outlasting a few people and hitting FT but his chipstack was so small that he died at the FT almost immediately.

    with an M=1.5 I don`t even think.

I`m pushing all-in all day long.

should have pushed long before this.

No sense in waiting here. a flip is a fantastic result. The raise may actually be a good thing - if you'd pushed to open you may get called by 2+ opps and be running against 3-4 overs because they are getting too big a price.

Miffed - how do you know you're behind? People never raise AK?

he was chiplead at one point but had lost a few pots coming into this scenario. he was only this short for a small while.
