Easy fold to 2 All-In's but do I want to gamble with AK early against 1 person?

Very common situation for me with this many people left. I raise with a decent hand (mid to high PP or something like KQs or AJ and a similarly sized stack pushes. If I lose I'm crippled. Do I ever want to tangle with this?

General comment: Please add in the buy in for the Sng next time.

Hand#1: Way too agressive, there are 9 people in the Sng, and you are out of position. Complete the blind and fold on the flop.
Preflop you mainraised, which is usually not recommended. After the flop its just not worth it to try to bluff this pot, it works for you this time but I dont think it is a EV+ move

Hand#2: I dont think you were too agressive here. You represented strength preflop, However I have a problem with the amount you raised, you raised 140 to a more then 300 pot, he would call you even with a draw or a TPMK, if you want to push him out bet harder, and you did not really want a call here.

Hand#3: Vs 2 AI it is an easy fold, against one AI you have to have reads, if he is a loose player I would call, but against a tight player I would fold.

Hand #4: raise much more preflop, your minraise with 2 limpers in front of you will at best be called by 2 others , and you want to isolate. Raise it to 400 or 500 instead of 200.
You are also less likely to get reraised so agressively.
it is a hard call for you now - my gut feeling is 2 overs trying to buy the pot here. If you are willing to go to a coinflip then go ahead and call, I would personally fold if I only invested 200 in

Stop min raising. Espeicially the TT hand - you're not looking at play a big mutli way pot with TT.
  4. #4
hand 1) I would contemplate leading the flop instead of check raising. Also your check raise was a little too big imo. Save chips. Pop it to 150 max.

hand 2) he bet wayyyy weak into a pretty damn big pot. Reraise him and see what he does.

hand 3) contemplate flat calling the UTG raise...

hand 4) dont minraise, if you are going to play the TT here, bet it hard, or limp it and play for set value.

    TLR
completeing the blind is nasty. Its going to be headsup. Take control of the hand.

    Sorry, $5 SnG

Hand 1: This was folded to me in the SB, so I figured KJ would be a decent hand to make a move with (although I guess I should have 3bb-5bb and if he called thrown in a nice continuation bet).

    Hand 2: Good point, thanks

Hand 3: How do you like my raise against a 4BB raise with 2 callers?

Hand 4: I minraised this to mix up my 3BB raise (which I had been doing a lot). Guess that’s a bad idea with a hand I don’t really want to play against? Do I want to call his all in if I had bet this right?

Really dumb question, but is there a difference between a minraise and a 2BB raise? They seem to be the same to me, but I see people make this bet late… are minraises/2BB more acceptable late game when the blinds are high?

If they are REALLY high, it's not soooo bad, but I would stick to 2.5 at minimum. You're giving the BB correct odds to call with pretty much anything with 2x. If everyone is folding to min raises late I guess you could make an argument, but if I get my QQ cracked by T9s I feel a lot better knowing he made an iffy/bad pre flop call than if I beg the guy to come into the pot.

Mixing up raises is, IMO, worthless. I stay with 3x (more first couple levels), if limpers I'll usually add in 1x per limp, although here I may vary it up depending on hand, stacks sizes of limpers, my image, etc.

Whether or not there is value in mixing up raise amounts, there is definetely NOT value in doing it here. If you want to get fancy, do it to open a pot, not with two already in. 0 chance of folding these guys out. If you had AA, it would be one thing (although I personally don't like the play then either) - at least you're building a pot you know you're ahead in and likely still will be after the flop. With TT and two limpers already that is not the case.

A raise must be the size of the bet before it, so if the blinds (the big blind is the 'bet') are 50/100, the min raise is 100 - or 2x the size of the BB.

In terms of when small bets (the size of the BB or 2x the BB) are correct (which is I think your question) it's tough to say. If you're sure you have the best hand, and opp is not drawing to beat you, you want to bet as much as can be called, and also try and tie opp to the pot. If he is drawing to beat you, you want to make a bet that makes it incorrect for him to chase (and then hope he calls anyway). If you aren't sure whether you have the best hand or not (say you have QQ on an A high flop) a lot of folks will try to keep the pot small by making smallish bets - bets that someone with a hand like JJ might pay off, but someone with an A will likely raise. It's a useful play in some spots, but again you risk giving someone a good price to chase you with a draw, and you may just build a nice pot for opp holding the A.
