    Is there any value in making this play in the early-middle stages of a single table turbo?

    I don't think I understand the question. Is it ok to bet at a safe flop when op checks?

    That's not really the question. Is there value in raising preflop in late position with 9-9 in the early-middle stages of a tournament, and then betting the flop? Obviously the flop bet is probably fine, but is there any use in playing 9-9 aggressively in general at this point?

    OOOOOHhhhh, yah my normal protocol is to limp/set those 9s. I could see reasons for raising every so often.

    I just limp those nines to set em. At least in that situation.

    Limp. I may raise JJ and up late position at an early level though.
    pulling a courtiebee pŏŏl-ĭng ā kôrt-ē-bē (verb phrase):
    1. overvaluing mid pocket pairs
    2. knowing you should fold, but donkishly calling or raising anyway
