    Default Highish PPs in EP

Earlyish in a SnG, still the play tight stages,

Lets say I limp TT in EP playing for a set. Theres a few callers behind me and then a 4x raise in LP. Blinds fold. What do I do? The way I see it I have two options:

    1) I fold like I would with a mid pair like 55. I could do this, but TT has the added possibility of being an overpair to the flop. Folding seems like a waste of a decent hand.

    2) I call and check out the flop. If my tens are an overpair I bet into the villian and see what happens. If there is 1 overcard I bet anyway and see what happens. Either way if he calls I'm loosing a decent portion of my stack.

How should I play it? Could I reraise him?

    It depends.

E.g. If blinds were 15/30, there'd be 15+30+30+30+30+120 in the pot (at minimum, depending on what a "few" callers means). That makes it 90 to call a 255+ pot in which you are fairly likely to have the best hand, and in which you may well have the potential to double up. With a big stack, I call here. With a short stack, I push. Everyone at this point has either a big stack or a short stack.

If the blinds were 50/100: pot is 50+100+100+100+100+400 = 850. 300 to call for 850 isn't bad, especially since this has become such a steal-worthy pot. I suppose I'd probably call/push depending on my stack size here as well.

I assume by "early" you mean that it's early enough that you have no reads. Everything changes with presence of reads.

Honestly, I don't mind a call holding a middle pair here either.

What is your stack size compared to the blinds? 4x BB is a small enough raise to play for a set/over pair if you have 30+ BB. You say its the early stages so the blinds are small, calling and playing the flop if your tens are an over pair or tripple up is probably the best play. If you're shorter stacked (10x BB or so) its push or fold.

why would you fold 55? i would call with any pair i limped looking to hit a set. i like playing 55 against a raise because if i hit my 5 against someone with an overpair or TPTK i can double up. i don't see why you would play higher pairs for set value but not lower pairs.

because i'm starting with 1000 chips. calling this could be easily 10% of my stack. Godd call?

The reason I'm debating calling with TT is that it has set value and overpair value.

Given that it's early in the tourney and assuming that stack sizes are roughly equal, I'm definitely calling here and probably leading out on the flop. Even if you lose 250 chips on this hand, that's not a total disaster if the blinds are small, particularly given the chance to double up (or better).

Not sure that I would re-raise before the flop as this might lead to him pushing if he's got AA or KK, and I think you definitely want to see the flop here.

Is this too LAgg early on?
