Default starting out on the real deals

    Hi all,

been playing with play money on P-poker for half a year now and am confident about playing on real money tables now.

Just want some real good advice for someone starting out on how to make good profits.

Also which poker rooms are best and which tables?

    Cheers guys.

Read all the guides/stickies in these forums and on the home page. Read the reviews on the home page for site info. Play. Then go back and read all those stickies again and take Dwarfman's words on aplying yourself to heart. That will get you started.

And be aware that real money poker is a TOTALLY different game which requires very different tactics to succeed. You can't see three quarters of the flops with 79o or Q5s and expect to make money. Tighten up, play good hands hard, always be aware of position and play accordingly, and fold crap, always.

start with LOW stakes, you want to lose less on the mistakes you'll make..
pokerstars has 1c/2c NL or 2c/4c fixed
    villain goes AI
i call with a set (i have him owned)
    i win pot
villain: **** this, this site is bullshit, ******* rigged, suck out ****

Basically you haven't played poker yet. The good news is you now have FOLD EQUITY!
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

    Yay fold equity!!

The only thing play money poker shares with real money is the fact that it's poker. I would say that if you've developed a style on the play money tables that works, ditch that. I think that there's a good chance that it's bred bad habits into you. Read the bank roll sticky in this thread (or the beginner's thread) and figure out what stakes you want to play. I started on 10NL on Pacific Poker, and it was good to me.
