    Default Last table

I was playing a small $5+1 tournament a couple nights ago, and I barely made it to the final table. This was a turbo tournament so blinds got big fast. We were at 16,000 / 8,000 blinds...

I had 13,000 chips after the blinds had just passed me. 5 people left now plus myself = 6. I drew AQ Spades.

The next blind was going to come from a guy who only had same chips as me about 12,000 so he was probably going to get knocked out.

Should have I gone all in with AQ spades by calling the blind when it got to me, or should of I folded, hoped that he got knocked out, and made an extra $12 by getting 5th instead of 6th ?

I ended up calling and losing - taking 6th place. The reason I ask is because even if I won, I only would of had 26,000 chips and the blinds would of knocked me out when they hit me 2 hnads later anyway unless i got l ucky again and drew another hand.

    Any suggestions appreciated!

With blinds SO big you've got to get lucky to get anywhere.

gambool here when you can open the pot all day. Even with one in ahead it's probably gambool time. More than that I guess you'd fold.

If they payoff difference was huge (like if you sattelite into a really big MTT and the payoff difference from 5th to 6th is liek bigger than your whole bankroll...) I might think about folding here and limping into 5th. Even if you double or tripple up on the AQ hand, you are probably going out in 5th anyway...With the big blind being higher than your stack, and another guy in the same position but the blinds coming to him first, i probably just fold it and pray he gets eliminated when the blind comes to him.

If you think you have any chance at all of coming up into 4th or 3rd by doubling up, definitely do it. You aren't going to find a better spot. But if 1-4 chip stacks are all immense cmopared to you and the other guy, just let him bust out first is my play.

Ya, I whent a head and called and lost to KJ off suit. He drew a J, I drew nothing.

Ended up, the other guy got lucky and won his hand and I would of had to face the blinds again anyway before he got knocked out. I guess it was a good call. If I had won, then I had a chance of getting lucky and winning again and surviving.

    Blinds were approximately: $ 150,000 / $ 50,000 / $30,000 / $13,000 / $13,000 / $40,000.

So it was some what likely a few other people whent all in.

Push for sure. A double up will give you a big leg up on the other short stacks, and you aren't gaining much my limping up the pay ladder.

Also, with less than 1 BB left, AQ will be the best hand you see in the next round for sure
