    Default A HH for review

I was very happy when reviewing this SnG, because I felt I wasn't pushing things near the bubble when I didn't have to necessarily. I think this is a leak that's been costing me $. I know the name of the game is aggression but tempering that at key points appears to be just as important. I've put in more own comments and questions. I'd love the feedback.

  2. #2
    Hand 7:
Personally I’ll limp any PP from any position level 1-2, as long as there isn’t a total goof ball raising every hand. Then again, I start with 1500 in chips…

    Hand 11:
Yes, I wouldn’t call even a minraise with Kjo

    Hand 18:
I’d still fold this (too early and you’re out of position), but if you’re gonna play it, play it strong, 3BB raise at this level isn’t intimidating. Continuation bet is good, and you probably would have taken it right there if it weren’t for the ace.

    Hand 25:
You’ve got 99 and there’s only one limper to you 1 off the button. You’ve got a strong made hand and you’re under 10BB, I’d push this. Limping, not good. Steal the dead money, or cross your fingers and hope to double up against Ace/rag.

Hand 30: Tough call and one I struggle with, the blinds are going to kill you next hand, but K4 UTG blows. See why you should have pushed with 9’s. I think you gotta push and pray.

    Hand 36:
AK, I’d push this, you want someone to double you up, because you’re still only at 7BB.
I’d also push because your image has become very aggressive in the last 3 hands and you’re not going to get credit for such a big hand.

    Hand 41:
This reminds me of a post I made where Fnord recommended betting 1/2 your stack now, intending to push the flop regardless. This looks stronger than a straight push to anyone who’s paying attention (it appears you want the call).

    Hand 43:
In this situation I think you’re better pushing or folding just based on your position. You’re less than 7BB. Would you fold this to a reraise from a stack that has you covered?

    Hand 49:
I’d fold this, you’ve just stole 2 times in a row already, no sense pushing it. Min-raises screams weakness here. Although I imagine if anyone pushed back you’d fold, but you’re asking for them to make that play…

    Hand 50:
Why you should have folded last hand, better position and a better hand.

    Hand 53:
I’d fold this on principle that he should be pushing any two and you can’t call with 78? Maybe that’s my leak?

Hand 56: Calling with the intention of folding? Never heard this one. Just fold, not playing is sign enough you’re human

    Hand 58:
I agree, you don’t have to play every Ace on the bubble, especially against SS in the blinds that need chips.

    Hand 61:
I can’t believe he’s not calling your raises, this guy is so passive. Nice raise.

    Hand 64:
Agreed, this guy is way too passive with his limping. I’m jealous you got to play him heads up.

Overall a solid SnG I think. After hands 25 & 30 it was smooth sailing playing text book SnG poker. This is by far the most passive table I’ve seen in a while, way to exploit it.
  3. #3
Yep, this was a passive table... The late game was one of those games where I felt like I had complete control..... it was pretty fishy though looking back on it.

Hand 7: I typically do to (obviously I did).. but do you look for particular odds to call if there is a raise and callers behind you? (I think it should be 7-1 right?)

Hand 11: Interesting... anyone else? call minraise with KJo?

    Hand 18: glad you agree

Hand 25: 99 hand, there were two limpers actually.. and 5 still to act. I'm still unclear what the best move is. I don't think my FE was real high here.

Hand 30: yep.. i was pretty much punching myself in the sack for not pushing the 9s at this point.

Hand 36: you're probably right about going all-in and 'trying to look like I'm buying it'. It's not a move I use too often, but probably should keep it in mind.

Hand 41: wow.. do you think that would be effective at the low buyin levels?

Hand 49: Good call... this looks like an obvious weak play here. Wow.. can't believe I missed that. I think I went with the minbet because the blinds had just reached 100/200... i don't know if that's any justified reason... probably not.

Hand 53: Another questionable play on my part.. thanks

Hand 56: Really? I thought a little blind protection was a standard play from time to time. I really felt like I was going to be playing this Brunelvis guy HU at the end. He was the chip leader and on my right so I really wanted to work on him. I wasn't planning on doing a lot of weak calling from the BB with crap, but thought it would be good advertising the first time he tried it (especially the min raise). Is this totally stupid?

Thanks alot for the feedback man! Great stuff.
  4. #4
    HAND 11:
Nah, odds don’t matter at these low levels because if you hit your set you’ll make it all back. But that’s why low PP’s are frowned upon as the blinds go up unless you’re desperate.

    HAND 25:
I was wrong about the situation here, but I still stand by the push with 99. Limping puts you under 8BB, and with that many people likely to limp there’s no way 99 will be worth anything if you don’t hit your set. I think you need chips and better to get them now before the blinds go up and you’re forced to make a move with less strength.

    HAND 56:
If you don’t want him stealing (and you think he’s full of shit) play back into him, don’t call. You’re fairly similarly stacked on the bubble with two fools barely scrapping by. Unless he’s got a huge hand, he’ll fold to your action in fear of being crippled by your stack and fighting for 3rd instead of sitting pretty in the lead. Remember, similar stacks are the best one to challenge.
