Default Question about playing into a FTR player

ok im going to explain the situation a little bit here to start with.

Tonight i was in the PS $11+rebuys and Soupie and I ended up being on the same table at about 200th place i believe. We were both in bad spots (bottom 10 places) and had both recently doubled up in separate hands. Although we had both doubled up, we were both STILL in bad spots. Blinds were 800/1600 and soupie was in the BB. I was on the other side of the table and had KJo and ended up pushing into him and he called. I won the hand but he had me covered by like $350 chips, so that's what it left him with.

My question is this really. In a situation like that, with both of us needing chips, should I have not pushed into him and let him play his blind or was it ok to play against him regardless. I'm relatively new around here. Boondock brought me in, and that is why I just want to know if i broke an unspoken rule or something. Lemme know guys.

Um ... no. Softplaying is considered cheating, and we don't condone that here. I've busted multiple FTRers while talking with them on vent (and obviously not sharing hands until they've folded).

Ha um well I'd say soupie is a big boy and can take care of himself. Anyone who almost knocks out soupie is worthy in my book. Except it wasnt very nice - shame on u. He coulda folded. Its not like u were stealin - Im sure soupie wouldnt have any problem knocking you out.

    Wastin' away again in margaritaville....
I haven't had the joy of being in that situation but knowing soupie, my hand requirements for a late position push-steal are a little higher than my usual J2o since he'll call you if he has a half way decent hand.

In a tournament you are looking to get EVERYONE'S chips. They could have donated you a kidney, you shouldn't consider that in a tourney, beat them down with a stick.

The only exception to the rule is against me. Any FTRer who plays me should never, ever steal my blinds.

deal... unless I have AA or KK - so if I raise you assume one of those. See you at the 30 rebuy...

Only time i've ever busted an FTR'r is when Davsimon sat at my table in a 3-table sng at UB. First hand he sits i'm like "hey davsimon whats up" before he responds he pushes AI for about 800 with 50-100 blinds, I have AA and call. AK for dav gg.

Yea, I'm kind of a donk.....don't remember the hand but I sounds like something I would do if I was a bit short on chips.

But to answer the question I tend to give FTR folks a lot more credit for being good players than your average opponent (they tend to know my stlye as much as I know thiers)....but that being said I never would soft play anyone....and Soupie picks on my blinds so I certainly pick on his. I play with a lot of friends on a daily basis, being "nice" or giving them extra consideration would be a recipe for disaster....at the table friends are opponents with chips you need....

Playing against a known FTR member?

    Bust that ass.

I've busted and been busted by numerous FTR members in the last 2 years,
    Everyone understands.
