Do u raise with AJ AQ in the first few levels or do u limp? Do you call raises or fold them? Whats the best way to play them at the start of the game?

I play on Party, so u think its best just to fold these, not even worth limping? |

I play stars. I usually just limp w/ AQ especially if there have been some other limpers in the pot. You'll have to make quite a large raise to drive the maniacs out this early and I don't like commiting a lot of my stack so I just take a flop and hopefully hit something.

If there is a lot of limpers I will usually raise AQ 4-5 BB's depending on how deep our stacks are. I would much rather get 2 calls and have a sizeable pot almost knowing I have the best hand compared to seeing a flop with 6 people and not even feeling safe if an A flops.

I think it's crazy to fold AQo or AJo if no one has shown any strength. Quite often you are throwing away the best hand. Just don't get married to them on a dangerous flop...

Early levels I fold them at most all positions unless I know I can get a cheap flop. (button/sb)

AQ & AJ require some finess and require a read on your opponents (dominated by AK, AA and QQ/JJ). Obviously, suited is a little better than unsuited because of the nut flush potential. I find that these hands get you into trouble more often than not. If you rais from early position, you're opening yourself up to a reraise. Then what do you do? Play them cheap and don't call many raises with them. If you're going to raise with them, do it with position. Watch out if you only hit your J/Q, especially if it's not top pair.

I play AQo even harder than I play AK in the early stages. It's more vulnerable to multi-way action and there is the fear of an overcard. I like my chances with AQo heads-up but if you can't drive out the limpers you have to flop well to win.
