Not sure i should have pushed here, maybe i should have raised preflop and if I get a favorable flop I'll lean on him with a big bet.

I think you need to detach the results from the decision.

This is a push and it's not even close to anything else.

You are so outstacked by the other guy that he's probably calling with any 2. You really have no options.

The only other thing you could have done was to raise to 600 pre-flop. If the guy called you'd pretty much be committed to putting the other 600 in on the flop. Now, unless he's a really poor player, he's calling your 600 chip bet and you are still left with the same situation.

You got your money in with the best hand. Even if you were beat in this situation... that's poker. He just happened to draw out on you this time.

when you get cards like this I just want to get AI with a call. Whether that is he calls your AI or you get him to push you AI. period.

If you can get all your money in heads up pre flop with AJs..............Do it.

You have two legitimate options here, and to me they're about the same: 1. push pre-flop; 2. raise to 500 pre-flop, push the flop no matter what it is.

Unless you think he would fold, I'm pushing this all day long.

Although, there is something to be said for the call call - I find that a lot of players will push most of the time if you just call the SB, at least at my level of $11 SnGs.

Basically what ping said - as long as you get all of your money in preflop, you're good.
