    Default Keep plugging away?

i am a newbie, but in the last 2 days i've lost 9 sng's in a row, i've been rivered in every one while holding either AA or KK, just wondering if i should keep pushing these hands so hard, or just throw my computer out the window lol.

each case was the same, someone re-raised my raise pre-flop, so i went all in.

i'm pretty new to sngs too, and i'm just coming out of a horrible past week. i think i had a day where i played like 5 and didn't even make final table in any of them (i play the 2 tables). i was trying to move up a buyin at the same time, so i know that bad play contributed to this, but i also know i had terrible luck at the same time. it didn't matter which buyin i played this week, i was rivered over and over again. high pocket pairs (esp pocket kings for some reason) hated me. it hurts when you get your money in while you're ahead only to be killed on the turn or river, but it's something i've had to learn to accept (over and over lol) this week. just gotta keep thinking to yourself, "it'll turn around. luck will go my way. just got to keep playing my game." don't do what i did and let the fact that you're losing (due to bad beats) affect your play. play your game and it will turn around. i lost a third of my bankroll this week due to this downswing, and i'm sure it could have been worse. it was really discouraging. this forum helps though ... keep reading, keep learning, keep realizing that it's gonna turn around soon ...

make sure you read your hand histories over again too, just to make sure that the fact you're losing really IS due to bad beats and not due to some other big leak in your game.

i learned this week that downswings are always going to part of the sng game. it's been a hard week. the last couple of days i was able to partially rebuild my roll by playing some $5.50s, and then i played a couple $11s. it's turning around i think, i finally won an $11 and my bankroll is back to where it was before. i hope it's over. if it is, thank god.

good luck! i know EXACTLY how you feel right now. you're not alone, definitely not. just keep playing, it will turn around soon.

Swings are a big part of the SNG game, and getting all of your chips in with the best hand is the only thing that should matter.

This will make you money in the long run, just hang in there and try not to tilt.

Thank you for your feedback, i was playing 2 table sng's but since moved to 1 table. was this a good move or should i have stuck with the 2 table sng's.

also an update i'm now at 11 in a row OTM.

at point should i start thinking about taking up jogging instead lol.

Your ITM should be higher at the 1-table SnG's as compared to the 2-table SnG's, so OOTM streaks should theoretically be shorter and less frequent at the 1-table SnGs.

Good luck and hang in there.

Whichever you have more success at is the type of SnG you should play.

Variance does happen, but maybe you can improve your game still. Look through your HH's and see where maybe you could of played a hand better.

If not sure about a hand, then post the hand on FTR.
