lol did you get any interesting comments in your chat box after that one?

If you think you're against whiffed overcards, a raise might get the message across + make it cheaper to find out if you're beaten + protect you from seeing a nasty overcard.

If you thought it was someone with overcards trying to make a move, why not reraise on the flop and a take it down right then?

If you just smooth call you're letting him draw to his overcards and he'll have you beat. Plus if you reraise and he calls or raises back then you'll know you're beat.

EDIT: SmackinYaUp said the same thing, didn't read the replies before posting. sorry.

    Marry Me Cheryl!!!
take your choice flop or turn
but make a reraise at some point to find out where you are
this IS a suckout but doesnt make the best of his hand by overbetting or pushing the turn
id have a feeling you were policing me here
but you hit and won a huge pot
got to make a reraise at some point though for information 'filth' :P

i like how he waited until the river, and three diamonds showing, before pushing all of his money in for you to call. toolbox play on his part, nice hand on yours.
In answer to your question... it depends...

also sometimes its best to let people bluff and you just cold call because if you raise they will only call with a better hand (like on the river). but this isn't one of those times, imo.
