    Default What's your play??

    Here's the situation:

Blinds 100/200, ante 25, $5 18 seat SnG at Stars. 7 players left, 4 places paid. I'm medium stack, and in the SB with AQ. There are three limpers when it gets to me, so I raise it to 900. Two callers (one large stack who limped from MP, lets call him villain, and another with a medium stack who limped from Button). Flop comes 333, I check, villain (large stack) pushes for about 8000 (i have ~4500). Other player folds. I.....???

Reads: Have seen villain limp KJo from MP, then call a raise with it. Have seen him twice push against the smaller stacks post flop, but they folded so i didnt see what he had.

Do you call or fold and why? What range of hands do you put him on and why??

I dont know how to put the results in white, so I will post them later.

i call because he seems too aggressive.

besides, if he has a pocket pair, you still have 7 outs

I don't like the check-call here with no hand. His play is certainly consistant with a pair, but also an agressive bluff since the flop only good for pairs and 3's. You obviously didn't raise a 3 pre-flop.

You have plenty of chips left - I have to give him credit for a low pair (which explains the overbet, since he doesn't want anyone to draw out on him)

What about if the button calls? There's more in the pot, so better odds, but you would have to give him credit for a pp, and the pusher would either have a weak A (6-10) or at least KQ in my opinion, which would take away one of your outs. Does this change your play?

With a push and a call, this is a clear fold. One of them has you beat. No reason to risk your tourney here calling off 4500 chips when you, at best, have 6 outs, and may be drawing to 3 or less.

I agree about folding if the button calls. Anyways, i called thinking he had a weaker ace, or at best K high. He flipped over A2 suited, and hit a flush on the river. Luckily the river card was a Q, which gave me a full house. Funny, later in the same tournament, at the same table, i had 66, and the flop came 444, one guy bet, so I pushed him AI and he called w/ A7 suited. He didnt hit, so I took him out.
