why not check raise the flop???

you have enough left to just bet the pot, but pushing is probably good too.

Yeah probably better than just betting strait out. Guess i was afraid it would just check around and i might give a free diamond to a bigger flush draw. I was just hoping to get 1 caller out of the 4 with my almost pot sized bet who was on a draw. With the intention of taking it down on the turn if another non flush card came...I don't put him on a boat with the 2nd four so that doesn't bother me.

I guess after this hand i just wished i had extracted more chips, since my read was right and it looked like he was on a draw. I always fear the suckout in the early stages of these things

Update: 50 / 261 at the break. This is the first break i've made in my career of MTT's (four) *cheers*.

Bigger flush. Thinking about it now, maybe check raise to see where you stand could be a good idea. I dont I could push in this situation though.

looks like I was wrong, nice move

PS is plenty on the turn, push should only get called if you're beat. I like leading out on the flop with this many in.

I like the flop bet as well. You bet about 2/3 of the pot on the flop. I would bet about the same on the turn. He only has 7 outs for the flush and maybe 4 more outs for a boat. So at best he has a 1 in 4 shot to beat you here (based on your read). I'd bet between 1000-1500 on the turn.
