I love being lectured/trash talk
Here are a few examples from tourneys the past few days:
Situation 1:
With blinds at 15-30, I raise to $100 behind two limpers from the SB with Ac Qd.
One folds and one calls. Flop is Kh 8c 6c
As I have said here often, I don't like to continue with AQ on a king-high flop, but with just one opponent who limp-called, a c-bet seemed in order, so I bet half the pot and he called. The turn brings a third club, so I figured a semi-bluff was in order, so I bet half-pot again and he calls. The river brings an ace so, confident I'm ahead (figuring AK would have reraised on the flop) I bet the pot and he calls and I win.
"Baudib, you are a terrible poker player."
"What did you have?"
"K7"
Sit 2:
I'm in the BB with Ac 2c with the blinds at 25-50. There's an early position min-raise to $100 and one caller. Some may disagree but this is a no-brainer call to me getting 5.5-1 here.
Flop is 2 Q 2. First raiser checks, second bets pot and I call. Turn brings an A and he checks, I check. I bet twice the pot on the river (blank) and he calls).
"Why did you play A2 against a raise??"
"Pot odds, and I'm in a blind."
"LOL, I should have figured some fish could have a 2."
"What did you call with?"
"KQ. It was an overbet, thought it seemed weird. Thought you were bluffing."
"I had you preflop, on the flop, and you were drawing dead on the turn."
"You're still an idiot."
Sit. 3:
I am the big stack in the BB with 64o. The blinds are 150-300. Two callers, then a shortstack goes all-in for 550. One caller, guy in second, after that. I announce that I have crap, but pretty much have to call, given the pot-odds and the fact that 250 is just 1/20th my stack. Both limpers call.
Flop comes 3 5 2, I flop the nut straight. I bet half the pot, two fold, one calls. Turn is 7. I bet half the pot again, hoping for a call, and the guy calls. Finally, on the turn, which is a J, I push all in, and he folds. When he sees what I was playing, he goes ballistic on me. He had AQs and called down most of his stack on ace-high and a gutshot.
I told him that the price was right, especially when give the chance to eliminate a player, and it was obviously a hand I could get away from.
He recovered somewhat in chips, but he was never quite right mentally after that. He bitched at me the rest of the game, lamenting losing the hand with his beloved AQ. Later, I was in the SB with 22, and he pushed all-in from the button with AA (when he had about 15 BB). I folded, and he showed his cards and said, "What's a matter, price wasn't right?"
Me: "You dumbass, I would have a called a smaller raise."
"I didn't want to give you the chance to suck out on me with crap again."
I busted him pretty soon after that when he raised me from the SB with A10 and I pushed all-in with KK.
