The check behind on the river is fine, no reraise on the flop is a huge leak.
Here's how it breaks down:
You, 1600 bet, gets two callers, thats a big fucking pot. Homeboy bets out to try and steal the pot with trey trey on the flop by betting exactly what you bet preflop which is nothing with two callers and the blinds + antes in that pot. By calling here, you then call a 3200 bet on the turn with still NO information. By reraising 1600 (A min, which is almost as scary a reraise to a good player out of position as a heavy reraise. or 2000-2400 (Because your hand is still very likely best.) then you find out exactly what he has, if you are scared of a set, which you appear to be, then when he plays back at you you know what he has and you can dump the hand or make a hard call here.
So, you end up paying 1600+3200 by your current play + any river bet or give up any chance at the pot assuming he caught something because you never reraised you have NO information, you're flying in teh dark. = 4800
On the other hand, a reraise on the flop costs you much less and you take back control of the hand and allows for a very large bet on the turn if he calls. It costs you, 1600+1600-2400= 3200-4000. Less, and you get information.
Even if he does have a set of tens, it is STILL the proper play to reraise him here. + You get more money in the pot with the better hand because a turn bet has yet to come, and you find out if you are beat or not, avoiding a blind decisionon the river. If you get played back at, make an informed decision.
