    Why the short buy-in?

Can you explain your bet sizes on the flop + turn? How far ahead are you thinking towards getting it all in? This is a topic of great interest to me right now.

For what it's worth I'm going $6 on the flop and going at least half-pot on the turn. Maybe pot the turn. However, I'm still trying to find the right value balance in these games.

    Thanks.

I was trying to get all-in from the flop onward, but I wanted to bet enough to keep him along. I was hoping the board would become more favorible to him as the hand progressed and that he would pay me off on the river. He didnt hit two pair, but he had top pair on a paired board with a kicker showing higher than his, so he probably figured I was a short stack trying to buy the pot from him with another ace.

The reason Im buying in short is because I dont trust my deep stack play right now. Its whats caused a lot of the problems for me. People cant suck out on you as bad if you buy in short heh.

I also wonder if he calls your turn bet as often if you buy-in for $100...

With top pair and a broadway kicker... He calls the bet regardless of your stack size.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

In the PokerStars .25/.50 game most of the regulars find a fold on the turn.

The turn is harmless. your average opponent doesn't know he's walking into a slow-play. You'd have to bet more on the turn to get even a strong player to fold.

Check/Min-Raising the flop then betting $8 with $36 behind is a pretty strong show of commitment to the pot.

I'd have to say the opp played pretty dumb. The overbet on the river was a real sign he was beat, but he just couldnt let his top pair go.
