    Default NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I was having a great day until this happened. Does this qualify as a badbeat, or did I just not bet enough? konstantin2 had been raising every pot he entered, regardless of position, and had been making plays similar to this where he would raise the hand with suited connectors from first position. The possibility of a straight did occur to me when he bet on the turn, but at the time I thought he was betting his draw to see the river cheaply. Should I be kicking myself for not betting more on the flop, or re-raising more pre-flop?

That's a pretty bad beat. You had him owned.

Yes it is a "bad beat" but you did put in 208 in while you were ahead and like 900 in while you were behind. Just something to consider.

I'll never understand the cute bet amounts...

How is it a bad beat? The op raised AI with the nuts which got called.

His raise looks like a huge overbet to me... but the board shows 456 which could indicate he has a straight or 2pair, maybe he's pushing on the flush draw or even FD + overcard. god knows, I play low stakes
    Experimenting - 200NL 5max.

Situational bad beat. He played it well, the only conciveable hand that beats him here is 7-8. (i know 2-3 and 3-7 do to but that is very unlikely.

Nothing you can do about a guy raising UTG and calling raises with suited connectors. Then calling raises on the flop with an insider. Over the long run you will be making money of these guys.

    the flop bet was horrible.
You are betting less than half the pot. This allows for just about any hand to try to suck out. (specifically, a flush draw)
    the turn push was horrible.
What possible hand can he have that calls your push?
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

OK I can see where you're coming from Demi, but keep in mind 7-8 was the only conceivable hand he could have been holding that my 3 kings wouldn't have been beating. He would have called my push with: pocket 4s, 5s, 6s, 4-5, 5-6, and straight/ flush draw.
I agree that my line was weak, and that I should have bet more preflop/ flop,
but then again I have a feeling villain would've called me down just the same. Live and learn

question about dealing with these types of players... or actually thoughts. I think re-raising large preflop with any 2 at times when u have position on them is a profitable play. I have been doing it to aggressive players at 400 nl and almost always insta-fold, no one has ever played back at me yet, and only a few have seen a flop but folded on it. U don't really need to wait for KK to beat this guy imo. just take control of him.

anyone think this is a bad idea / or have better ideas on dealing with overly aggressive players preflop
