Anybody played the PP speed tournaments?

Anybody? Are they worth it or is it a total crapshoot? I was thinking of firing up a $5 one tonight - knowing full well it'll be insane and there will be a million people playing. Is this even remotely +EV? I might do it anyway just for giggles while I'm playing in a serious MTT, or some sit-n-goes.

play it for giggles only, if you have any edge it is very very small.

That's what I figured. I haven't even seen one in action yet, but every 3 minutes... that sounds like a suicide run. Frankly it feels like the blinds go up a bit too fast on their regular tourneys, let alone the speed ones. But hey... it's $5.

I've tried it... basically your only hope of winning is to build up a big stack as fast as possible to be able to take the massive blinds... people drop out of this like flies, so if you can survive the first 25 minutes you'll find yourself in the top 100... then just push any two good cards that have any hope of winning unless you're massively stacked... it is a bit of fun though
