Default Gambling in low buy in rebuy tournamnets, smart, or a waste?

I have not kept good track of my winnings and where they came from, so i am not sure from my own records. But what's the vote from you guys? is it smart to be willing to rebuy 10-16 times by going all in with decent holdings? I know its a -EV move but i feel that if i can get ahold of 10k + chips in the rebuy i am going to do pretty well in that tournament, and by gambling like this i can almost always accumulate that sort of stack.

i am talking about the 10 / 5 / 3 dollar rebuy tournaments with MASSIVE fields.

    7 buy-ins total is my new limit (6 rebuys and 1 add-on).

It's not a waste, but consider how much you really want to spend. I've played $10 Rebuys on Stars were I've had a $25K stack and rebuys were I've had a $5K stack. I seem to do better when I have fewer chips. I like to finish the rebuy around $10K and over a course of 150 Rebuy Tourneys I am averaging just under 5 buy ins (that includes the add-on).

Remember when you're the big stack at the table, everyone else wants to double up off of you. And for you to double up, you have win a few times. It's an interesting dynamic at work. Play your best and you'll do fine.
