I was playing pretty tight today. Just had a run where I my starting hands ran a little weak and the posted hand was the only draw I caught. Got some great action on my set of Queens though, too bad I had to check behind when the 4rth heart hit and my opponent had KK with a heart.

Good question. I figured with 4 to a straight on the board I would go for an easy $20 I was sure he would call. Very un-fnord-like *shakes head*

All-in is ~$75. If I think he calls $20 here almost always, then I would need to get ~$75 called more than ~25% of the time for it to be a better line. I didn't get the big bet caller vibe on this guy, seemed to be the sort I could feed smaller bets to all day.

So you're saying this guy was just active regardless of your image? Why raise weak against a texture of automatic action? Were you priming other players at the table? If so, it seems this guy kept getting in your way. Other than that, your LAG has no purpose. Force feeding a dry run in a good game is suicide. I think with your math knowledge you can see the risk reward isn't adding up when the game is loose. I must be missing something. You're too smart for this.

Don't overmanipulate. If you're in a good game, and you're not catching cards, then it sucks but you have to keep playing only better hands. You're asking for trouble raising weak into someone who goes deep too often. Even when you hit weird hands you can't loosen this guy up too much more than he already is.

Maybe it's my limit thinking... with a flush draw + gutshot I'm raising for value and to build a pot to set-up big value bets when I hit.
