Poker Tracker Purchase and Play evaluation
I have some extra money sitting in Neteller and I'm thinking about purchasing pokertracker. I only play sngs so i will not be using it to rate players, which is PT's real strength i think.
My main reason for this purchase would be the ability to replay entire tournaments and evaluate my play. I prefer to see the tournament unfold as oppose to reading an entire hand history. Also i would be able to make notes on something i might've missed while online.
How do you guys review your play and how often?
Currently i don't really do an indebt review of my play, i just have a sense of what i'm doin wrong. If i'm running badly i just reread a few chapters in hoh1 or theory of poker and the strategy guide on this site and go back to playing. This normally sets me back on the right path.
My thinking is i should take a day off playing each week to evaluate my play from the previous week. probably wednesday, which according to my spreadsheet is my losing day.
I will select several tournaments;
2/3 that i busted out early(hopefully there will be very few of these) 9th -6th.
2/3 that i went out on the bubble; 5th & 4th. these will help me evaluate my bubble play.
2/3 that i got ITM or won entirely. these will let me know whether i'm playing well or just getting lucky, and hopefully boost my confidence.
According to how my week went i can increase or decrease the amount of tournamments i review in each category. I may have to increase the number i review ITM for short stack, big stack and heads up play.
There is something else i want to evaluate also and wonder if anyone else does it or even if its necessary. i will call it winning confidence. Basically its the itm formula for itm. i.e once you make the money how often do you win it all. i guess roi measures the same thing?
Anyway guys, your comments and advice are welcomed.
