i think im mixing up position on the river.

    question
if I was first to act on the river.
Do you check call on the river considering and assuming that I checked first on the turn and villian checked behind?

Just a question: Why limp preflop? Table too loose? I know wh y you might limp... I just wondered why in this particular situation.

I really don't mind the check on the turn. Only a King or Nine is going to call.

On the river though, either of these hands bets in hope of getting something in the pot after your turn check. Your jacks seem clearly good when he checks.... but if you bet small enough you might induce a call from an A6 or small pocket pair... I think around 1/3 to 2/5 of the pot would work.

I limp preflop becuase at level 1 i play JJ and TT mostly (not always) for set value. There is overpair value which is why I bet the flop.
If folded to me in CO or Button, I raise.

I really really should have bet that river for value. I dont think any player would try a check raise after I checked behind on the turn. BAH!

Does anyone think that not making a bet on the turn is costing me alot of chips, I mean, isnt that the value of having position? So when that overcard comes out on the turn I can evaluate what the villian has?

I don't know... you've not played aggressively. Like I said, I think the only thing that calls is a better hand. 996 isn't a particularly scary board for a lower pair, but I think the king is going to create a situation (Particularly after your flop aggression) where the only hand that can call is a King or 9, and you probably take it down there. You make more by value betting the river in the long run, I think.

I would bet the turn, nothing fancy, trying to figure out where I stand, if I was smooth called I would check the river
